The company operates in regulated industries with a strong focus on quality, compliance, and scalable production.
Job Description Responsibilities:
Lead development and optimization of manufacturing processes for optical components and assemblies Drive NPI, process validation, and production scale-up Oversee documentation including SOPs, work instructions, and process flows Manage and develop a team of manufacturing engineers and technicians Collaborate with design, quality, operations, and supply chain teams Ensure design for manufacturability (DFM/DFA) integration into production Drive Lean, Six Sigma, and continuous improvement initiatives Support compliance with MIL specs, ITAR, ISO 9001 / AS9100, and ANSI standards Lead root cause analysis and corrective actions for manufacturing issues Manage budgets, capital equipment planning, and resource allocation MPI does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, national origin, age, disability, veteran status, marital status, or based on an individual's status in any group or class protected by applicable federal, state or local law. The Successful Applicant Ideal Candidate:
Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Manufacturing, Industrial, or related) 5+ years of experience in manufacturing engineering 1-3+ years of leadership or supervisory experience Strong background in optical or photonic manufacturing processes Experience with precision machining, alignment, metrology, and assembly Familiar with regulated environments (MIL, ITAR, ISO, AS standards) Proven experience with NPI, process scaling, and yield improvement Lean / Six Sigma experience preferred Strong leadership, problem-solving, and cross-functional collaboration skills What's on
