Select engineering problems for investigation, developing novel approaches and solutions to technical problems. Conduct quality control checks, review engineering calculations, review engineering designs, evaluations, and specifications for accuracy and completeness. Perform onsite inspections and reviews, conduct or oversee remedial design work. Remain abreast of state-of-the-art methods and developments. Recommend changes or improvements to engineering plans and programs. May function as the project manager for routine to semi-complex projects. May be assigned to unanticipated work locations throughout the United States. Relocation to within a reasonable commuting distance of the job opportunity is required .
