Job Description

PacMar Technologies LLC, a privately-owned defense contractor, is seeking a Director of Unmanned Systems. The incumbent will join a group of talented Engineers, Scientists, and Innovators with tremendous top-side potential devoted to solving novel technological problems with national defense implications in the fields of Maritime Platform Design and Prototyping, Power and Energy, Autonomy and Data Science, and Naval Architecture among others. Job Summary:
The ideal candidate will be experienced in specifying, installing, programming, and testing systems for unmanned maritime platforms; the incumbent will oversee the day-to-day activities of the companys Unmanned Systems portfolio to ensure that the portfolio is performing optimally to meet customer and growth expectations. The Director of Unmanned Systems will collaborate with other Technical Leads across the company to provide unmanned system expertise for projects outside of the portfolio.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Works with Program Managers to execute project plans and delivery commitments.

Works with Business Strategy team to identify and bring in new work related to the Unmanned Systems portfolio.

Ensures technical product quality for work being performed within the Unmanned Systems portfolio.

Serves as mentor, subject matter expert, and/or Principal Investigator on unmanned system programs helping to develop further expertise throughout the company, assisting in the execution of duties upon request.

Collaborates and works closely with senior engineering leadership and executive leadership in defining and executing long-term technology roadmaps.

Implements innovative technologies within the Company, providing support and leadership to other company technology portfolio leads and facilitating continuous evolution in the frontend and backend of development teams.

Executes Company procedures, policies, and associated tools to develop processes that are more efficient and ensure conformity with the Companys policies and overall objectives.

Communicates and explains new directives, policies, or procedures to managers and leads change management, as necessary.

Improves customer service and satisfaction through policy and procedure changes.
Required Education/Experience/Skills:
Bachelors degree or higher in Engineering from an accredited college or university.

Extensive and diversified background with at least 8 years of related experience.

Experience in managing budgets and schedules with ability to convey information to varied levels of staff.

Demonstrated competency in strategic planning and capturing follow-on work.

Aptitude in decision-making and problem-solving.

Exceptional written, verbal, interpersonal, and public speaking skills. Has the ability to exhibit professionalism, tact, and patience when communicating with others.

Has a sense of ownership and pride in performance and its impact on the companys success.

Ability to self-motivate and motivate others.

Customer and results oriented.

Highly organized and analytical, creative, and strategic thinker.

Ability to work on multiple projects and meet tight deadlines.

Desired Specific Job Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Masters degree in Engineering or related disciplineExperience in managing and working on military/government programs (e.g., NAVSEA, USCG, ONR, DARPA)Familiarity with program management, proposal writing, or client developmentMinimum of 5 years of experience managing cross-functional teams and engineering supervisors, as well as demonstrated knowledge and interest in new and emerging technologies.
