Data Center Projects Location:
Iowa (Traveling / Project-Based Role)

Full-Time Position Overview A national electrical contractor is seeking an experienced Electrical Project Manager to lead large-scale data center and mission-critical projects in Iowa. This role is responsible for managing complex electrical scopes from preconstruction through commissioning, ensuring financial success, schedule performance, and technical excellence. This position is part of a traveling project team , operating on a rotation schedule with travel support provided. Key ResponsibilitiesProject Leadership & Execution Manage electrical scopes on hyperscale and enterprise data center builds Oversee all phases: preconstruction, procurement, installation, commissioning, and turnover Lead coordination with field superintendents and large onsite crews Ensure strict adherence to safety and quality standards in high-security environments Technical Oversight Manage complex systems including: Medium voltage distribution Switchgear and generators UPS systems and backup power Bus duct and critical power pathways Grounding and bonding systems Coordinate closely with commissioning teams and engineers Participate in BIM coordination and clash detection processes Financial & Contract Management Manage multimillion-dollar electrical budgets Track job cost, productivity, and forecast projections Lead change order pricing and negotiations Procure long-lead equipment and manage vendor relationships Client & GC Interface Serve as primary point of contact for general contractor and owner representatives Participate in OAC meetings and high-level coordination sessions Maintain strong client relationships to support repeat business Qualifications 7-10+ years of experience with a commercial or industrial electrical contractor Proven experience managing data center or mission-critical projects Experience handling large electrical contract values ($20M+ preferred) Strong knowledge of critical power systems and fast-track scheduling Proficiency with Procore, Bluebeam, MS Project, and Excel Willingness to travel and work on a rotation schedule
Pay:
$120,000.00 - $170,000.00 per year
