Location:
In-Person Job Summary North American Rail Products is seeking an experienced Operations Manager to oversee manufacturing operations, yard logistics, material handling, and production workflow within a fast-paced industrial manufacturing environment . This role will lead daily manufacturing, machining, fabrication, warehouse, and logistics operations , ensuring operational efficiency, workplace safety, and high-quality production standards. The Operations Manager will supervise production teams, coordinate cross-department collaboration, and drive Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement initiatives to support the efficient production and distribution of railway components and industrial products . This role is ideal for professionals with experience in manufacturing operations management, plant operations, CNC machining environments, industrial production, logistics coordination, and warehouse management. Responsibilities Manage and oversee daily manufacturing operations, machining processes, fabrication workflows, and yard logistics Supervise production staff, machinists, operators, warehouse personnel, and yard laborers Coordinate production scheduling, workflow planning, and operational efficiency initiatives Oversee material handling, forklift operations, loading/unloading, and inventory organization Manage shipping and receiving operations, warehouse logistics, and supply chain coordination Ensure proper equipment utilization, machine uptime, tooling management, and facility operations Investigate production issues and conduct root cause analysis and corrective actions Develop and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), work instructions, and manufacturing documentation Collaborate with engineering, quality assurance, production planning, and supply chain teams Implement Lean Manufacturing, process improvement, and waste reduction strategies Maintain production reports, inventory records, and operational performance metrics Conduct safety inspections, enforce OSHA compliance, and promote workplace safety culture Ensure yard organization, housekeeping, and safe storage of materials and equipment Lead workforce planning, employee development, and operational performance management Perform additional duties as assigned RequirementsEducation Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Operations Management, or related field preferred Equivalent experience in manufacturing operations, industrial management, or plant operations may be considered Experience 5-8 years of experience in manufacturing, industrial production, machining, fabrication, or plant operations 2-3 years of leadership or supervisory experience managing production teams Experience working in CNC machining, fabrication, heavy manufacturing, metal production, or industrial environments Experience managing warehouse operations, yard operations, material handling, and logistics coordination Experience with ERP systems, inventory systems, production scheduling, and operational documentation Skills & Qualifications Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes, industrial production systems, and plant operations Experience with CNC machining, fabrication processes, tooling, and industrial equipment Knowledge of warehouse management, forklift operations, and material-handling procedures Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and GD&T Experience with Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, process optimization, and operational efficiency Strong leadership, team management, and workforce development skills Excellent problem-solving, root cause analysis, and troubleshooting abilities Strong organizational, communication, and cross-department collaboration skills Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment Strong commitment to safety, quality, and operational excellence Benefits 401(k) Health insurance Dental insurance Paid time offWork Location:
