What You Will Do:
- + Serve as a senior systems engineering leader who integrates business strategy, customer requirements, and technical architecture across the Global Software Solutions portfolio.
+ Partner closely with Product Management, Marketing, UX, Operations, Cybersecurity, and Engineering to translate market opportunities and customer needs into clear, actionable system requirements and architectures. + Lead global teams of software systems engineers, directly managing and mentoring engineering managers and technical leaders, while building scalable systems engineering capability. + Establish and evolve systems engineering frameworks that enable flexibility, rapid iteration, and innovation while maintaining disciplined requirements, architecture, and risk management practices. + Own system-level architecture and technical decision-making for complex, connected solutions spanning embedded software, cloud services, mobile applications, and integrations. + Lead and direct the Secure Software Development Lifecycle (SSDLC) governing body, ensuring secure-by-design principles are consistently applied without slowing execution. + Partner with program and business leaders to balance scope, cost, schedule, and risk across multi-team, multi-year initiatives, providing clear trade-off analyses to support decision-making. + Oversee portfolio-level risk management, proactively identifying technical, integration, security, and delivery risks early and driving mitigation strategies. + Lead Technical Design Reviews across product development milestones, clearly communicating system readiness, risks, and recommendations to executive leadership. + Evaluate and present system design trade-offs, aligning performance, reliability, manufacturability, and cost with Allegion's business priorities and customer value propositions. + Ensure clear requirements definition, traceability, and verification strategies that support fast learning cycles and high-quality outcomes. + Champion data-driven problem solving and continuous improvement, using root-cause analysis and systems thinking to resolve complex, cross-functional challenges. + Act as a senior technical escalation point for strategic customers and partners, representing Allegion with confidence and credibility. + Develop talent through coaching, feedback, and career development, fostering a culture of accountability, inclusion, curiosity, and innovation. + Identify and remove systemic barriers to execution, sponsor change initiatives, and evolve ways of working to support business growth and agility. + Model transparent communication, strong judgment, and ownership, influencing outcomes across organizational boundaries.
Succeed:
- + Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience; advanced degree preferred.
+ 10+ years of experience in systems engineering or software-intensive product development (IoT, access control, consumer electronics, automotive, industrial, or adjacent industries). + 5+ years of people leadership experience, including leading other managers and building high-performing global teams. + Demonstrated expertise in systems engineering fundamentals, including requirements management, architecture definition, trade-off analysis, traceability, and verification & validation strategies. + Strong ability to operate at the intersection of engineering, product, and business—connecting technical decisions to customer value and financial outcomes. + Experience leading complex, multi-team programs with competing priorities in fast-moving environments. + Working knowledge of cybersecurity practices and SSDLC leadership. + Experience with cloud architectures (AWS, Azure), connected products, wireless technologies (WiFi, Bluetooth LE, Zigbee, Z-Wave), and mobile applications. +
