•USD140,000 per annum + bonus The Opportunity A leading employee owned engineering consultancy is hiring a Practice Builder to drive and scale its Land Development presence across Indiana and the wider Midwest. This is a high impact leadership role at the intersection of business development, technical delivery, and team building, ideal for someone who wants to grow a market, not just manage projects. You will play a central role in expanding the Indianapolis presence, leveraging an established regional network while building a high performing team and client base. This is a true "builder" role. You will grow a practice, lead key projects, and create a culture that attracts and develops top engineering talent. Why This Role / Why Now Build a practice, not just manage projects You will have the autonomy to grow your own business unit, including hiring, mentoring, setting strategy, and driving growth, while being supported by a strong national platform. Strong, repeatable project pipeline The business model is built on high volume, mid sized projects at around $100K fees, creating: Reliable revenue streams Repeat client relationships Scalable growth What You'll Do Indiana Market & Team Leadership Build and scale the Land Development team in Indiana Recruit, develop, and mentor engineers across all levels Create a high performance, collaborative team culture Manage staffing, utilisation, and long term growth strategy Land Development Project Delivery Oversee projects from concept through completion Ensure quality, profitability, and client satisfaction Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams across regional offices Operate effectively in fast paced, client driven delivery environments Client Leadership & Growth Win new work and expand existing client relationships Lead proposals, interviews, and strategic pursuits Grow presence across developers, municipalities, and private clients Drive repeat business through trusted delivery What Success Looks Like (First 12 to 18 Months) Established strong presence in the Indiana market Built a sustainable pipeline of Land Development work Developed a scalable, high performing team Delivered consistent revenue and business growth Strengthened regional collaboration across offices What We're Looking For Required 10+ years of Land Development engineering experience Proven ability to win work and build client relationships Leadership experience across teams and projects Strong understanding of project delivery and profitability Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) Preferred Experience in a Practice Builder or similar role Track record of revenue generation from $250K to $1M+ Experience scaling teams or entering new markets Familiarity with Midwest development markets Culture & Progression (What You Can Expect) This is a firm built for high performing, entrepreneurial leaders: Large, growing, financially strong organisation Merit based progression tied to performance and impact High autonomy with strong internal support Collaborative, low ego culture focused on results Clear pathway into Director and Principal level leadership Compensation & Benefits Base salary:
