Job Duties & Responsibilities of the

Project Engineer:

Develop preliminary engineering designs and material specifications. Prepare project cost estimates and conduct research, feasibility studies, and economic analysis. Establish design criteria based on standards and codes. Perform field work and translate completed projects into as-built drawings. Review engineering projects for accuracy and compliance. Act as project manager as needed and collaborate with management and engineering teams. Coordinate with equipment vendors to plan layouts and ensure installation schedules. Review consultants' work and recommend adjustments. Conduct engineering studies during pre-project phases, define scope of work, and evaluate proposals. Assist with contract administration, review bids, and prepare project documents. Monitor installations to ensure compliance with specifications and budget. Education & Experience Requirements of the

Project Engineer:

Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Engineering Management, or related field, plus 2+ years of experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Proficient in applying sound engineering principles to operational and design challenges. Strong Project Management, Contract Administration, and national codes interpretation skills. Expertise in engineering economics, AutoCAD, and Microsoft Office Suite. Excellent written and oral communication, organizational, teamwork, analytical, and adaptability skills. Enjoys collaborative travel to various locations (approximately 50% of the time). Food manufacturing experience required, with knowledge of meat processing preferred. Aptitude for working well in a fast-paced, dynamic setting. Understanding of installation, construction project scheduling, and engineering principles related to food processing and meat industry.
