Job Title:
Quality Manager Job Description The Quality Manager leads the deployment and execution of the Quality Management System, champions a zero-defect culture, and ensures compliance with AS9100, regulatory requirements, and customer expectations. This high-impact leadership role suits a results-driven professional with strong integrity, a passion for continuous improvement, and the ability to build and develop high-performing teams in a manufacturing environment. Responsibilities Partner with the Quality Director to maintain, improve, and effectively deploy the Quality Management System (QMS). Lead a multi-shift manufacturing quality team, including inspection, audits, and quality engineering activities. Drive accountability, performance, and continuous improvement across all quality operations. Prepare for and lead internal, customer, and third-party audits to ensure ongoing compliance. Oversee first article inspections (FAIs), inspection planning, and the development and maintenance of standardized work. Ensure configuration control, traceability, and document compliance throughout the product lifecycle. Manage nonconforming material through the Material Review Board (MRB) process and support risk-based decision-making, including deviations and concessions. Collaborate cross-functionally with engineering, manufacturing, supply chain, and program teams to resolve issues and improve processes. Monitor, analyze, and improve key performance indicators (KPIs) related to quality performance. Lead corrective and preventive actions (CAPA), including root cause analysis, implementation of solutions, and effectiveness verification. Mentor, coach, and develop quality engineers, inspectors, and technicians to build a high-performing team. Contribute to a positive and productive work environment aligned with core values of trust, drive, expertise, and support. Support a multi-shift quality organization as needed, ensuring consistent coverage and performance. Perform other quality-related tasks and projects as assigned. Essential Skills Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Quality, or a related technical field; a master's degree is also acceptable. 8+ years of manufacturing quality experience, including at least 5+ years leading quality teams. Proven leadership ability to drive high performance, accountability, and develop future leaders. Experience developing and executing strategic plans to meet operational and quality goals. Quality Engineering experience with strong exposure to manufacturing environments. Hands-on experience with Quality Management Systems and working knowledge ofAS9100/AS9100D
requirements. Demonstrated experience leading internal, customer, and third-party quality audits. Strong experience with corrective and preventive actions (CAPA), including root cause analysis and effectiveness checks. Experience with Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) and first article inspections. Experience managing nonconforming material, including MRB processes and supplier quality involvement. Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills using methodologies such as 8D, 5-Why, and PDCA. Excellent communication, collaboration, and team-building skills. Ability to support and lead a multi-shift quality organization as needed. Additional Skills & Qualifications Master's degree in Engineering, Quality, or a related technical field is a plus. Aerospace experience, particularly with composite and/or metallic airframe systems, is strongly preferred. Experience with full aircraft assembly is a nice-to-have. Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams, including engineering, manufacturing, supply chain, and program management. Demonstrated passion for continuous improvement and a zero-defect culture. Ability to operate with a strong sense of urgency while maintaining high standards of quality and compliance. Work Environment This role is fully onsite, working five days per week in a manufacturing environment. The Quality Manager leads and supports a multi-shift quality organization, partnering closely with inspection, quality engineering, and production teams on the shop floor. The work environment emphasizes collaboration with engineering, manufacturing, supply chain, and program functions, and relies heavily on the use of Quality Management Systems, AS9100-compliant processes, and structured problem-solving tools such as 8D, 5-Why, and PDCA.
