The Engineering Planner II is an experienced technician responsible for providing technical assistance to engineers or plant personnel for the design, planning, reporting, and documenting of projects. Supervises the construction and schedule coordination of field work. Ensures all work conforms and is in compliance with design specifications for continued plant high reliability and efficient performance. Key Responsibilities Champions a corporate culture that emphasizes transparency, integrity, safety, environmental responsibility, employee development, diversity and inclusion, customer service, and operational excellence. Coordinates, oversees, and expedites the construction and procedural field activities on plant maintenance improvement projects to ensure safety and quality while meeting the defined budget, schedule, and project objectives. Provides technical execution of defined activities to support the delivery of project initiatives required to achieve efficiency, effectiveness, and innovation objectives. Provides periodic reporting of projects utilizing project management scheduling programs, costs vs. budget spreadsheets, and verifies invoices for cost and project accounting codes. Prepares, and provides technical assistance to engineers and plant personnel in preparation of, documents, data, drawings, and computer work associated with the preparation of technical specifications of both procuring equipment and services on operations, maintenance, and construction projects. Provides technical assistance by researching data and drawings, developing cost estimates, performing calculations or executing programs for the development, analysis, and/or justification of internal and external projects. Organizes data and detailed recordkeeping. Utilizes engineering standards, procedures, and processes, providing recommendations for process improvements, as necessary. Supervises and directs contractors as required to ensure quality field work and the work is performed safely as scheduled. With knowledge of construction and O&M procedures, works with many plant departments and other LOB's to meet common goals. Responds to plant schedules and engineers' needs by adjusting workload priorities on multiple projects. Provide communication to their manager to provide status updates on project activities, and identify risks in delivery or resourcing needs. Support senior project staff to provide their manager with technical project updates to Director level management on a regular basis to proactively support business objectives. Scope of work is clearly articulated and project based, may support multiple projects with minimal supervision. Works within defined budget, schedule, and project objectives. Qualifications Required Education, Skills & Experience High school diploma or equivalent Bachelor of Science degree in project/engineering related field (preferred) 3-5+ years of related experience Business acumen pertaining to the Utility industry Strong knowledge of leading practices for their area of expertise Strong planning and project management skills Willingness and ability to learn new technologies on the job Proficient at functioning effectively within a team environment, present ideas and opinions in a respective and collegial manner Progression to this level is strictly restricted based on critical individual capabilities and business requirements Microsoft Office and SAP skills required Complete appropriate skillset review Key Competencies
