Job Description

The Marine Electrical Manager is a senior role responsible for overseeing the installation of electrical and electronic systems on ships, ensuring efficient installation & testing of said systems, and validation of safe and reliable operation.
Core Responsibilities Technical Leadership :
Act as the technical expert for electrical and electronic installations & testing, providing guidance to electrical staff and subcontractors Coordinate the transfer of technical documentation, such as: Drawings, schematics, manufacturer's manuals, work packages, etc. from engineering to production personnel (electrical subcontractors) Establish and direct priorities to electrical installation teams in accordance with schedule and milestones to be achieved Coordinate with other trade leads to avoid resource conflicts on the vessel(s)
Manage:
Manage subcontractors, including major equipment technicians including scheduling attendance, setting priorities, and ensuring progress and quality delivered.
System Oversight :
Manage testing of electrical systems on vessels
Asset Management :
Oversee installation, interim maintenance, and care and protection of marine electrical and automation equipment installed on vessel in accordance with manufacturer's requirements.
Incident Management :
Investigate and root-cause incidents in conjunction with QC, assist in closing incidents and recommend preventive/corrective measures
Training & Compliance :
Conduct on-board familiarization and training for electricians, verify maintenance and ensure compliance with safety regulations .
Reporting :
Provide progress updates on electrical scope, such as wire pulls, equipment mounting, terminations, pre-commissioning tasks, commissioning, and testing.
Skills & Competencies Leadership:
Proven ability to lead technical teams, manage subcontractors, and coordinate multi-disciplinary projects
Communication:
Ability to work effectively with shipyard team, management, and external contractors Experience in leading a team of Marine Electricians Strong knowledge of marine electrical systems, automation, and safety equipment. Proficiency in electrical block diagrams and basic networking, vessel drawings and internal wiring schematics Problem-solving and troubleshooting skills for complex marine electrical issues. Ability to plan and coordinate with engineers, contractors, production control team members, and production team. Experience with marine regulatory frameworks and class survey requirements. Project and budget management skills. Reporting Structure • Reports to TMC Outfitting Manager Work Environment On-board ships under construction, office as necessary In summary, the Marine Electrical Manager is a senior technical and operational leader who ensures the efficient installation and testing of a vessel's electrical and electronic systems, while managing available resources.
Pay:
$90,000.00 - $120,000.00 per year
