Position Summary B.E. Peterson, Inc. is seeking an experienced Project Manager to support and lead complex engineering and manufacturing projects within our ASME pressure vessel, power generation, and medical equipment business sectors. This role is responsible for managing projects from order receipt through engineering, fabrication, testing, shipment, and closeout while ensuring customer satisfaction, schedule adherence, quality compliance, and financial performance. The ideal candidate will have approximately 10 years of project management experience in a heavy manufacturing, fabrication, pressure vessel, power generation, or engineered-to-order environment. Experience managing technically complex customer contracts, coordinating cross-functional teams, and working directly with customers is required. This position works closely with Engineering, Production, Quality, Supply Chain, Sales, and Executive Leadership to ensure successful project execution. Key Responsibilities Manage engineered-to-order manufacturing projects from kickoff through final delivery. Review customer contracts, technical specifications, purchase orders, and commercial requirements to ensure scope clarity and compliance. Develop and maintain detailed project schedules including engineering, procurement, fabrication, inspection, testing, and shipment milestones. Coordinate internal departments to ensure project deliverables are completed on time and within budget. Serve as the primary customer contact for assigned projects and provide regular status updates. Lead project kickoff meetings and ongoing internal project review meetings. Monitor project costs, labor performance, material status, subcontract activities, and overall project profitability. Identify project risks, schedule impacts, technical concerns, and resource constraints while proactively developing mitigation plans. Support change order management, customer notifications, and documentation of scope changes. Work with Quality and Engineering teams to ensure compliance with ASME Code requirements, customer specifications, welding procedures, NDE requirements, PED requirements, and other applicable standards. Coordinate customer inspections, witness testing, FAT activities, and shipment requirements. Assist with forecasting, revenue recognition support, and project progress reporting. Maintain accurate project documentation within ERP and project tracking systems. Support continuous improvement initiatives related to project execution, scheduling, communication, and operational efficiency. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Project Management, Manufacturing, or related technical field preferred. Approximately 10 years of Project Management experience in heavy manufacturing, fabrication, pressure vessels, power generation, industrial equipment, or engineered-to-order manufacturing environments. Strong understanding of engineering drawings, fabrication processes, welding, machining, and manufacturing workflows. Experience managing customer contracts with technical and commercial requirements. Familiarity with ASME pressure vessel fabrication and quality systems strongly preferred. Experience with ERP systems such as Epicor/Kinetic preferred. Strong organizational, communication, and leadership skills. Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite including Excel, Project, and Outlook. PMP certification is a plus but not required. Working Environment Manufacturing and office environment with regular interaction on the production floor. Exposure to industrial fabrication equipment including cranes, forklifts, welding operations, and machining areas. Occasional travel may be required for customer meetings, vendor visits, or project support activities. Key Attributes for Success Strong customer focus and communication skills.
