Job Description:
The Power Plant Shift Manager is the senior onsite authority during their assigned shift. They direct daily operations, manage plant technicians, and ensure strict compliance with safety, regulatory, and environmental standards. Core Responsibilities Oversee the safe startup, shutdown, and continuous monitoring of plant systems (e.g., boilers, turbines, generators) to meet electricity demands. Administer strict safe work protocols, including lockout/tagout (LOTO) procedures, confined space entry, and hot work permits. Train, mentor, and evaluate operations staff, while ensuring morale and teamwork remain high. Diagnose mechanical or electrical anomalies and make decisive interventions to resolve issues before they escalate. Utilize computerized maintenance systems to log plant activities and manage equipment work orders. Qualifications & Requirements This position requires a high school diploma/GED with up to 9 years of related experience, or an Associate/Bachelor's degree in engineering/technical disciplines with 4 to 7 years of experience. High-stress decision-making, mechanical aptitude, strong verbal and written communication, and ability to handle rotating shift schedules. #ENG1
