This requires us to deliver on our promises and always look for new opportunities to grow, both ourselves and our businessJob Purpose The Engineer is responsible for engineering review, coordination, and technical oversight of external design contractors supporting electric distribution capital and maintenance projects. This role ensures contractor-produced designs meet company standards, regulatory requirements, and defined scope expectations while supporting the safe, reliable, and cost-effective delivery of work. The Engineer performs these responsibilities while working under the guidance of Senior and Lead Engineers. Key Accountabilities Provide technical oversight and review of external contractor design packages for distribution system projects Ensure designs comply with engineering standards, safety requirements, regulatory obligations, and constructability expectations Serve as primary technical point of contact for assigned external design contractors Monitor contractor technical performance, deliverable quality, and adherence to scope and schedule Support resolution of technical issues arising during design and pre-construction phases Coordinate with internal stakeholders including Construction, Planning, Asset Management, and Operations Participate in scope development, cost estimating validation, and schedule planning activities Identify and escalate technical risks or performance concerns as appropriate Support continuous improvement efforts related to contractor performance and design standards Participate in storm response and emergency restoration activities as required Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Civil, or Mechanical Engineering or closely related engineering discipline 0-3 years of relevant experience Experience working with external design firms or consulting engineers preferred Strong analytical and technical review skills Ability to manage multiple contractor deliverables in a structured environment Effective written and verbal communication skills Valid driver license with a safe driving record required Salary
$109,000 - $128,000 a year
