The OpportunityWe are seeking a seasoned engineering leader to head up a mature, 35-person water/wastewater group in the Baltimore metro area. This is a strategic leadership role with strong potential for growth, including expanding the regional practice and contributing to national initiatives.
The ideal candidate will bring a blend of technical expertise, business acumen, and leadership capability. You'll be responsible for overseeing project execution, mentoring staff, ensuring quality standards, and driving business development efforts. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a people-first, growth-oriented environment and is ready to take ownership of a high-performing team.
Key ResponsibilitiesLead strategic planning and growth initiatives for the water/wastewater groupBuild and maintain client relationships and pursue new business opportunitiesManage budgets, staffing, and resource allocationGuide proposal development and participate in client presentationsMentor and develop engineering staffOversee hiring and performance reviewsEnsure quality control and compliance with industry standardsRequired QualificationsBachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related fieldProfessional Engineer (PE) license (Maryland or eligible via reciprocity)20+ years of experience in water/wastewater engineeringProven track record in project management and business developmentStrong communication and leadership skillsProficiency in Microsoft OfficePreferred QualificationsExperience working with municipal and county clients in the Baltimore areaPrior leadership of a consulting team or business unitActive involvement in professional associations or industry groups
