Job description This role provides high-level technical program management with a focus on satellite communication User Terminal (UT) architecture and product delivery. You will play a pivotal role in driving the execution, integration, and implementation of new user terminals for various LEO, MEO, and GEO UT products. The successful candidate possesses a deep understanding of satellite broadband and telecommunication services for global enterprise, telecom, transportation, and government sectors. Operating at a Senior level, you will facilitate collaboration across multi-disciplinary engineering teams, strategic vendors, and global customers to manage the development and productization of complex UT systems. You will serve as a primary technical point of contact for development partners on program schedule, execution, and risk mitigation.
Main Responsibilities and Tasks Lifecycle Leadership:
Provide technical program leadership for satellite terminal development and continuous in-life management activities. Cross-Functional Coordination:
Lead end-to-end synchronization across Engineering, Product, QA, Production, and Supply Chain teams to ensure all deliverables are identified, tracked, and integrated. Customer-Facing Communication:
Serve as the primary technical program interface for customers, providing clear communication, status updates, and dedicated issue resolution support. Quality & Readiness Integration:
Drive the program integration for DVT (Design Verification Testing), QA, regulatory certification, and production-readiness. Structured Governance:
Establish and maintain structured risk, issue, and corrective-action tracking across all phases of the program. Root-Cause Analysis:
Support and facilitate root-cause / 8D-style issue governance when complex technical anomalies arise. Program Execution & Road-mapping:
Drive the execution of the product lifecycle from planning to global tactical delivery, partnering with cross-functional teams (Engineering, Sales, Finance, Operations) to align development with the product roadmap. Program Ownership:
Take a senior role in the PMO, establishing best practices for program management and owning the successful, on-time delivery of critical UT products to partners and customers. Project Planning:
Partner with engineering leads to develop and manage comprehensive project plans—covering everything from initial concept development to global mass production—for antenna and UT systems. Quality & Cost Delivery:
Coordinate and drive day-to-day cross-functional engineering execution to ensure antenna and UT development strictly adheres to schedule, budget/cost, and high-tier quality requirements by liaising with HQ Quality Assurance, Procurement and Supply management functions ensuring their integration in product development efforts. Technical Trade-offs :
Drive engineering project execution and lead the facilitation of technical trade-offs while proactively identifying and resolving blocking issues. Cross-Functional Synchronization :
Lead the alignment between architecture, hardware, and software teams to ensure all cross-functional deliverables are identified, tracked, and seamlessly integrated. Supply Chain Coordination:
Coordinate with vendors, distributors, and contract manufacturers to optimize part procurement and track global delivery timelines. Risk Management & Reporting:
Author comprehensive technical risk assessments and issue reports in a clear, data-driven format for consumption by business and technical leadership. Team Mentorship:
Provide guidance and mentorship to engineering teams and junior PMs, ensuring work meets technical, functional, and regulatory requirements. Documentation Governance:
Oversee the organization of the project document library, ensuring specification requirements and design packages meet enterprise standards. Required Qualifications Education :
Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field; Master's or PMP certification preferred. Program Management Experience :
10+ years of project/program management experience, including complex hardware product development and customer-facing product delivery. Technical Expertise :
7+ years working directly within SW/HW development environments, with a strong preference for experience in satellite communications, RF, or network architecture. NPI :
Experience supporting NPI, manufacturing ramp-up and production readiness activities. Proven Results :
A consistent track record of successfully delivering large-scale, cross-functional initiatives on time and within budget while balancing competing priorities. Communication & Presence :
Advanced technical fluency; the ability to discuss complex technology concepts, schedule trade-offs, and project risks effectively with both engineers and business stakeholders. Ability to prepare structured executive-level status, risk and issue communications for technical and business leadership. Team Leadership :
Demonstrated ability to influence cross-functional teams without direct authority and mentor junior team members. Customer Relationship :
Experience managing customer-facing technical issues resolution and complex product management situations is highly desirable. Tool Mastery :
Proficiency in Jira, Confluence, SharePoint, and enterprise-level schedule tracking tools such as MS Project or Smartsheet. Travel :
Ability to travel up to 15% as required by various project phases. Physical Requirements:
Ability to sit and work at a computer for extended periods of time. Occasional lifting of materials up to 25 lbs (e.g., equipment, prototypes, documents). Ability to move within an office, lab, or manufacturing environment as needed.
