About the Company The Planning Manager is a key role within the North America operations team, responsible for end-to-end project planning from post-award through pre-execution, including schedule development, resource allocation, budget control, and internal and external coordination. This role directly supports project delivery objectives and ensures that all preparatory work is well-organized before project execution begins. About the Role The Planning Manager is responsible for early-stage planning and ongoing progress monitoring throughout the project execution phase, ensuring that projects are initiated and advanced on budget, on schedule, and within scope. Responsibilities Project Planning & Scheduling Develop detailed project execution plans based on contract requirements and customer expectations, including timelines, resource allocation, and critical paths Collaborate with engineering, procurement, and site teams to ensure plan feasibility Regularly update plans to reflect actual progress and changes Resource Coordination & Allocation Assess manpower, equipment, and material requirements for projects and coordinate with internal departments for proper allocation Track resource availability, identify potential shortages, and provide early warnings Support project mobilization and material logistics during project startup Budget & Cost Control Assist the Operations Director in project budget preparation and tracking Monitor cost variances during plan execution and recommend corrective actions Participate in change management and assess the impact of changes on timeline and cost Cross-Functional Communication & Reporting Serve as the planning interface to ensure information alignment with customers, sales, engineering, procurement, and site teams Regularly report planning status and risks to the Operations Director and relevant stakeholders Organize project kickoff meetings, progress reviews, and planning review sessions Risk Management & Mitigation Identify key risks during the project planning phase, such as supply chain delays or resource conflicts Develop risk mitigation plans with appropriate buffers built into the schedule Track risk triggers and drive timely implementation of mitigation measures Qualifications Bachelor's degree or above in Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial Engineering, or a related field 3+ years of experience in project planning or project management within automation, equipment integration, or manufacturing industries Familiarity with project planning tools Understanding of basic installation, commissioning, and site execution processes Strong cross-functional communication and coordination skills to drive collaboration across teams Willingness to travel domestically within North America as needed (primarily to project sites)
