ASAP About the Opportunity The SCADA & Operational Technology (OT) Engineering Manager leads engineering teams responsible for delivering secure, reliable, and high-performance OT and SCADA solutions for customer projects across automotive paint shop and municipal water/wastewater environments. This working manager role combines hands-on engineering responsibility with direct leadership of both the OT Engineering team and the SCADA Engineering department. The Manager ensures technical excellence, consistency in design standards, and adherence to cybersecurity best practices across all deliverables. In addition, this role collaborates closely with Project Management, Sales, and Estimating teams to provide technical input during proposal development and supports successful project execution from concept through commissioning. Key Responsibilities Leadership & Team Management Lead and mentor SCADA and OT engineering teams across multiple concurrent projects Assign and prioritize engineering workloads to ensure timely, high-quality deliverables Provide technical guidance, review work products, and support professional development of engineering staff Foster consistency in engineering standards, design practices, and cybersecurity implementation across all projects

System Design Oversee and contribute to the design, configuration, and implementation of SCADA and OT system architectures Ensure development of secure and reliable industrial network environments, server infrastructure, and remote access solutions Establish and maintain engineering standards for SCADA, OT, and control system deliverables Review system designs including network architecture, integration strategies, and control system documentation Project Execution & Engineering Oversight Support engineering teams through all phases of project execution including design, development, testing, commissioning, and startup Ensure alignment between engineering deliverables, project requirements, and customer specifications Provide technical oversight for system testing, validation, and field commissioning activities Coordinate resolution of technical issues and scope changes in collaboration with project stakeholders Cybersecurity & Standards Compliance Drive implementation of OT cybersecurity best practices across all projects Ensure compliance with relevant standards including industrial cybersecurity frameworks and customer requirements Oversee application of network segmentation, access control, endpoint security, and system hardening practices Maintain consistency in secure system design across engineering teams and project deliverables Cross-Functional Collaboration Partner with Project Management to support execution planning, scheduling, and delivery Provide technical input to Sales and Estimating during proposal development and bid preparation Collaborate with CAD, Controls, SCADA, and Field Service teams to ensure integrated system delivery Support customer communication regarding technical requirements, system capabilities, and project scope Documentation & Quality Control Ensure accuracy and completeness of engineering documentation, including system designs, network diagrams, and project deliverables Oversee quality control processes for engineering outputs across SCADA and OT teams Maintain engineering standards, templates, and documentation practices across all projects Support continuous improvement of engineering processes and technical deliverables Reporting Structure This position reports to engineering leadership and works closely with project managers, sales, estimating, field teams, and cross-functional engineering departments. Qualifications & Skills Strong leadership experience managing engineering or technical teams in SCADA, controls, or OT environments Hands-on experience with industrial automation, SCADA systems, and OT infrastructure design Strong understanding of industrial networking, servers, remote access systems, and cybersecurity principles Experience with SCADA platforms such as Ignition, FactoryTalk View SE, VTScada, Wonderware, or iFix Ability to read and interpret P&IDs, network diagrams, and control system architectures Strong problem-solving, organizational, and decision-making skills Excellent written and verbal communication skills with ability to interface across technical and non-technical teams Experience supporting project delivery across multiple concurrent initiatives Education & Experience Candidates should have one of the following: Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology, Computer Engineering, or related field with relevant experience Associate degree with significant OT/SCADA or industrial controls experience Equivalent combination of technical education and progressive industry experience in SCADA, controls, or OT systems Preferred Certifications SCADA or automation platform certifications Industrial cybersecurity certifications (IEC 62443, Security+, etc.) Networking certifications (Cisco or equivalent) Other relevant technical or leadership certifications Physical Requirements Ability to work in both office and field environments Ability to sit, stand, walk, and move throughout job sites as required Ability to lift and carry equipment or materials as needed Ability to access elevated or confined spaces when required Visual and auditory ability sufficient for technical and field-based responsibilities Travel Requirements Occasional travel required for customer sites, commissioning activities, and project support Travel levels vary based on project demands Work Environment This role operates in a combination of office, engineering, and active industrial environments. Fieldwork may include exposure to weather conditions, moving mechanical equipment, elevated work areas, confined spaces, and other industrial hazards. Compliance with all site safety requirements and PPE standards is mandatory.
