PLANT TECHNICAL ENGINEERING MANAGERAUBURN HILLS, MI
As a member of the Auburn Hills team, the Plant Technical Engineering Manager will be responsible forsupervising and coordinating assigned functions and programs within the Engineering and Maintenance Departments to include planning, process and equipment development. Incumbents in this classification are responsible for setting goals, establishing priorities, managing resources, developing concepts and approaches, and reviewing projects progress and results. Utilizing leading technology, core standards, best practices to provide the best quality and efficiency in the industry.
The Role:
Your work will include, but not be limited to:

Direct supervision of industrial engineers, controls engineers & maintenanceDefine assembly process according to customer and internal requirementsEstimate cost of product and process changesDevelop, evaluate and improve manufacturing methods including automation, utilizing knowledge of product design, processes, tooling and production equipment capabilities, assembly methods, and quality control standardsAnalyze and plan manning and space requirements, workflow and designs layout of equipment and workspace for maximum efficiencyDefine equipment, lead procurement, project management, installation and testing activitiesLiaison to corporate engineering resourcesMaintain project timelines aligned with product launch milestonesMaintain open issues list and drive completionEnsure all equipment and processes appropriately consider safety ergonomicsLead cross functional teams supporting above activitiesOversee preventative maintenance, repair and spare parts inventory for production equipment, building and groundsOversee the development, review and execution of planned downtime activities and other projectsCoordinate & manage work of external project managers, contractors, utility companies and other agenciesDevelop and maintain department proceduresEnsure that role-driven operational key performance indicator (KPI) targets are met, including spending within budget, labor (hours per car set), on-time preventative maintenance, mean-time-between-failure (MTBF) and mean-time-to-repair (MTTR)All other duties as assigned
Your Qualifications:
>10 years of combined experience in Industrial Engineering & ManagementProject managementLabor analysis / work measurementLine balancingCreation of technical purchasing specifications for custom assembly equipmentPlant layout using AutoCad Lt / 2DExperience with industrial controls & automationExperience with assembly equipment; build pallets, conveyors, end of line testers etcMaintain budget & spending forecastHands-on experience implementing change on production floorStrong communication & interpersonal skillsHigh attention to detailSense of urgency
