  • Permanent, Full-time Engineering Manager Our client, located in the Northern Suburbs of Minneapolis, Minnesota area, is looking to add an Engineering Manager to their team due to continued growth.

Highlights/Qualifications Strong background in product design to lead, manage, and advance mechanical and electrical engineers. This role is central to delivering custom engineered solutions, driving technical project execution, leading design optimization efforts, and fostering a culture of continuous improvement. Strong leadership, technical expertise in industrial product design, and highly effective project management skills. Manage and mentor a team of 5-10 engineers across multiple product lines, projects, and technical disciplines (mechanical, electrical, manufacturing). Oversee workload planning, prioritization, and resource allocation to meet deadlines and project goals. Conduct performance evaluations, set individual goals, and provide ongoing coaching and professional development. Interface with customers on active development projects. Foster a positive, inclusive, and collaborative team culture. Lead the execution of customer-specific design projects. Oversee and manage multiple technical initiatives (e.g., electric actuators, embedded controls, cost-reduction projects). Review and approve design work, engineering analyses, and technical documentation. Provide technical guidance to resolve complex design and manufacturing challenges. Optimize designs for manufacturability, quality, and cost through analytical and practical methods. Collaborate cross-functionally with global engineering teams, Manufacturing, Planning, Customer Service, and Product Management. Track and improve key performance indicators (KPIs) including On-Time Delivery, Quality, and Engineering Productivity. Lead and support Continuous Improvement projects using structured methodologies. Promote and implement process improvements within the engineering department.
What You Will Bring:
Proven people management experience with technical direct reports. Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field. Experience in mechanical design and product development, ideally with electromechanical, actuator, or motion-control products. Proficiency in 3D CAD (SolidWorks preferred) and mechanical drawings. Thorough understanding of mechanical systems, including gears, bearings, linear motion components, and load analysis. Experience with mechanical testing, measurement tools, and performance validation. Ability to collaborate effectively across engineering, manufacturing, and supply chain. Strong analytical, documentation, and problem-solving skills. Visa sponsorship

Annual base salary:
$140K to $170K (DOE)
