JOB SUMMARY
The EZ Dock Manager leads the development of innovative, high quality, effective products for the marine industry, the engineering of existing products, and the engineering of new products, installation and application of products. This Manager will oversee the coordination projects with necessary departments and communicate product designs to management teams involved in production, sales, and installation.
Essential Functions:
  • Maintains accurate and up-to-date human resource files, records, and documentation.
  • Responsible for designing and/or managing the design of safe, reliable, cost-effective products that meet required marine industry standards. (ADA, SOBA)
  • Utilize technical knowledge when designing and modifying products to ensure they are effective yet cost efficient to maximize profit margins.
  • Manages the planning, design, drawings and documentation for new products.
  • Together with General Manager and Marketing Manager, manages the development of product ideas from concept to production.
  • Responsible for managing and reporting on project schedules to insure timely and effective completion.
  • Coordination and management of outsourced design projects.
  • Manages the creation and maintenance of installation instructions & user guides.
  • Manages product data entry into Syteline (eg. BOM's, labor routings, and product cost determinations).
  • Functions as technical point of contact for the distributors, marine industry, water districts, governmental agencies, etc. regarding standards and guidelines.
  • Responsible for R D such as set up and testing of parts.
  • Responsible for ISO validation of new and revised parts.
  • Stays abreast of current recreational boating, fishing, and harbor/marina standards.
  • Provide installation assistance as required.
Required Skills/Abilities:
Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to manage sensitive and confidential situations with tact, professionalism, and diplomacy. Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software. Carries out management responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems. Manages the engineering budget. Demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced, high energy team environment. Excellent computer skills to include AutoCAD, ProE, and Microsoft Office.
Education and Experience:
Bachelor's degree (BS in Engineering) from four-year college or university 8 or more years of experience with increasing levels of responsibility and most recently held position of Engineering manager, supervisor or similar strongly preferred. Marine industry experience and plastic engineering experience. Qualified Professional Engineer (PE) or equivalent experience is preferred. A valid driver's license is required.
