Job Description

Boeing Global Services Software Quality Engineering Manager Company:
The Boeing Company Boeing Global Services (BGS) is seeking a hands-on Software Quality Engineering Manager to join our Quality Organization! This is an on-site position and may be located at one of the following locations: Denver, CO, Hazelwood, MO, Berkeley, MO, Long beach, CA, or Oklahoma City, OK In this role you will lead a distributed team of Software Quality Engineers supporting mission-critical aerospace and defense programs. You will align Software Quality Engineering (SQE) priorities with program needs across St. Louis, Long Beach, and Oklahoma City, partner with Business Unit leads to define workload and technical expectations and drive increased SQE engagement and consistent software quality practices across the organization.
Position Responsibilities:
Lead, coach, and manage a team of Software Quality Engineers supporting multiple BGS programs; own hiring, performance development, and career progression. Translate program technical and contractual requirements into SQE priorities and deliverables; align SQE execution with program schedules and budgets. Define and implement SQE processes, checklists, and metrics to verify software compliance, reliability, and safety on assigned programs. Provide approval and oversight of technical approaches, software verification strategies, and software quality artifacts. Coordinate supplier SQE activities; provide technical direction and assess supplier deliverables for quality and conformance. Identify and drive continuous process improvements (root-cause analysis, lessons learned, defect reduction). Maintain productive relationships with customers, stakeholders, program managers, and cross-functional teams; escalate and resolve elevated SQE issues. Perform Cost Account Manager CAM duties for Government Training Engineering (GTE) and Support Equipment (SE). Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience): Candidates must have at least one year of experience in a leadership role (team leader, temp manager, large scale cross functional project/program management, or formal manager experience) OR have completed the Boeing internal course "Exploring Leadership." Bachelor of Science in Engineering, Engineering Technology, Manufacturing Technology, Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, or non-US equivalent qualifications directly related to the work statement 5+ years of experience supporting software development programs, including hands-on experience with software verification, reviews, or testing 3+ year of experience leading technical teams (people management, mentoring, performance management) 3+ year of proven ability working with program leadership to prioritize and resolve technical quality issues This position may require up to 20% travel Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience): Active U.S. security clearance Software quality engineering experience supporting software with AS9115, DO-178, and/or
MIL-STD-882E
requirements. Practical experience with Agile software development and CI/CD pipelines Background in Software Quality Engineering practices (test strategy, test automation, static analysis, code reviews) Familiarity with DevSecOps tooling and secure software development lifecycle (SAST/DAST, automated builds, artifact management) Experience coordinating supplier quality assurance for embedded or avionics software
