Fully Onsite Role Overview BEPC is seeking a highly experienced Principal Engineer to support a major pharmaceutical manufacturing expansion project in Saint Louis, MO. This role will provide senior-level project engineering leadership for large-scale capital projects within a regulated life sciences environment. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience leading pharmaceutical or biotechnology facility projects, including cleanroom construction, brownfield expansions, facility qualification, and validation activities. This position requires strong technical expertise, stakeholder management skills, and the ability to independently drive project execution from planning through completion. Key Responsibilities Provide senior-level project engineering leadership for complex capital projects. Lead project workstreams and ensure successful execution within scope, budget, and schedule requirements. Collaborate with site, engineering, construction, and project teams to support timely project decisions. Identify, assess, and mitigate project risks while implementing effective solutions. Manage stakeholder communications and maintain alignment across project teams. Review engineering drawings, specifications, and technical documentation. Support cleanroom design, construction, qualification, and validation activities. Review and respond to construction submittals, RFIs, and scope change requests. Develop and maintain project schedules, documentation, and workstream deliverables. Ensure compliance with pharmaceutical manufacturing regulations, industry standards, and cGMP requirements. Drive issue resolution while balancing safety, quality, budget, schedule, and operational objectives. Provide technical guidance and leadership throughout project execution. Required Qualifications Minimum of 15 years of experience in capital project execution and construction-related engineering roles. Experience supporting pharmaceutical, biotechnology, or life sciences manufacturing facilities. Experience leading cleanroom construction, classified spaces, and facility qualification projects. Strong understanding of pharmaceutical manufacturing regulations, industry standards, and cGMP requirements. Ability to interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and technical documentation. Proven experience managing project schedules, budgets, risks, and stakeholder expectations. Strong leadership, communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills. Ability to influence decision-making in a matrixed project environment. Experience reviewing construction submittals, RFIs, and scope changes. Ability to independently manage complex project workstreams and deliverables. Education Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering required. Process Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or related engineering discipline preferred. Preferred Qualifications Brownfield pharmaceutical facility expansion experience. Process engineering background. Experience supporting facility qualification and validation activities. Experience managing large-scale manufacturing expansion projects. Knowledge of engineering design, construction management, and commissioning processes. Experience working within highly regulated pharmaceutical manufacturing environments. About
