Job Description

Lighting Project Engineer (Early Career) Build, Design, and Deliver Real-World Projects We're looking for a motivated early-career engineer to join a collaborative lighting team where you'll take ownership of projects from start to finish. This role blends design, fieldwork, and client interaction , giving you the opportunity to make a visible impact while growing your technical and professional skills. What You'll Do Own lighting projects end-to-end —from initial request through final completion Work directly with customers via phone, email, and onsite meetings Perform site visits to assess conditions and confirm project needs Create lighting designs using AutoCAD and design software Develop and present proposals, project costs, and timelines Coordinate permits, documentation, and project logistics Track progress, maintain accurate records, and keep projects on schedule Deliver efficient, well-designed solutions that minimize rework What You Bring Experience or exposure to engineering design, drafting, or utilities Familiarity with AutoCAD or similar tools Strong communication skills and a client-focused mindset Ability to manage multiple projects and stay organized Comfortable splitting time between office work and field visits Nice to Have Associate's degree in engineering, technology, or related field Background in lighting, electrical, or utility design Experience with lighting design software (AGi32, Visual, or similar) Why This Role Get hands-on project ownership early in your career Build a mix of technical, field, and client-facing experience Work on projects you can see implemented in real life Clear path to grow into Project Engineer or Design Lead roles Work Setup ~60% design/office work ~40% fieldwork Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of Charlotte, NC. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $26.00 - $28.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
