Director Plant Engineering:
As Director of Plant Engineering, your role will involve analyzing data, improving production processes, and reducing waste to impact operating costs. Collaboration with cross-functional teams is key to driving strategic initiatives, overcoming challenges, and ensuring excellence in maintenance and budget management. As the leader of Maintenance and Engineering in a dynamic plant setting, you will be responsible for maintaining optimal equipment performance and minimizing downtime. Implementation of advanced systems like Preventative and Predictive Maintenance and TPM will propel the plant towards high performance. Job Duties & Responsibilities of the
Director Plant Engineering:
Lead capital projects from inception to completion, ensuring timely delivery, cost-effectiveness, and adherence to safety and environmental standards. Manage all project phases to minimize operational disruptions and enhance plant capabilities through strategic improvements. Drive the development and execution of advanced maintenance strategies, including Preventive and Predictive Maintenance and TPM, to optimize operational performance. Enhance efficiency, reduce downtime, and ensure smooth production processes. Lead and motivate the maintenance team through effective delegation, policy enforcement, and safety prioritization. Solve operational challenges proactively, from troubleshooting to long-term solutions, to ensure uninterrupted production. Drive continuous improvement by developing and monitoring Key Performance Indicators to measure maintenance function success. Lead and develop high-performing engineering teams through coaching, performance management, and collaboration with HR to foster a culture of safety, communication, and recognition. Education & Experience Requirements of the
Director Plant Engineering:
Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business, or related field from a regionally accredited institution. Minimum of 10 years experience in Engineering management or equivalent combination of education and experience. At least 5 years in a leadership role with team development and management responsibilities. Advanced technical skills in mechanical/electrical fields and experience in resource planning in a large manufacturing setting. Experience in multi-million CapEx management and working with AutoCAD. Knowledge of maintenance systems, work order processes, preventive/predictive maintenance, and TPM. Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and SAP. Strong analytical, communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills. Ability to effectively communicate technical concepts to non-technical audiences. Excellent interpersonal, technical, and presentation abilities. Willingness to work extended hours and weekends as needed. Previous experience in food manufacturing, particularly in the Meat Industry, is preferred. Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
