Job Description
Lighting Designer 📍 Greensboro, NC About the Role We are seeking two talented Lighting Designers to join our growing team supporting a high-impact lighting program. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys a balance of fieldwork and design , and wants to contribute to projects across residential, commercial, and industrial environments . You'll play a key role in delivering efficient, high-quality lighting solutions while collaborating with customers, engineers, and field teams. What You'll Do In this role, you will: Conduct field assessments to locate and verify utility infrastructure, collect measurements, and document findings with photos Evaluate and determine lighting requirements based on site conditions and customer needs Develop outdoor lighting designs that meet project specifications, standards, and guidelines Partner with internal teams, contractors, and customers to ensure project success Communicate project updates clearly and effectively to all stakeholders Address and help resolve customer concerns in a professional and solutions-focused manner What You Bring Core Skills Experience with engineering design and lighting layouts Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word Working knowledge of electric fundamentals and power distribution systems Familiarity with MicroStation, AutoCAD, and DocuSign Strong communication skills—both written and verbal Ability to perform fieldwork , including walking long distances and carrying equipment Preferred Qualifications Previous experience in lighting design, utilities, or electrical distribution Strong customer service or client-facing experience Understanding of basic engineering principles and construction practices Ability to research and troubleshoot design and engineering challenges Work Environment This position offers a dynamic mix of office and field work , giving you the opportunity to stay hands-on while contributing to design and planning. You'll be part of a supportive, collaborative team led by an engaged and approachable leader, working in a modern, well-equipped office environment. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Greensboro, NC. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $25.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
