Strategic Project Engineering Manager Eastern North Carolina | Relocation Available | Nationwide Travel A leading national food manufacturing organization is seeking a Strategic Project Engineering Manager to support large-scale automation, packaging, and capital engineering initiatives across multiple production facilities nationwide. This role is ideal for an engineering professional who thrives in complex manufacturing environments and enjoys leading high-impact projects from concept through execution. Key Responsibilities Lead multimillion-dollar capital engineering projects from planning through implementation Manage equipment installations, automation upgrades, packaging systems, and process improvements Coordinate project execution with vendors, contractors, plant leadership, and cross-functional engineering teams Develop layouts, equipment specifications, budgets, schedules, and project documentation Support plant operations through engineering design, commissioning, and startup activities Drive continuous improvement initiatives related to automation and operational efficiency Support multiple manufacturing facilities across the organization Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related technical discipline preferred 5+ years of engineering/project management experience within manufacturing environments Experience managing large-scale capital projects Background in food processing, packaging, or related regulated manufacturing required AutoCAD proficiency required Experience with equipment installation, vendor management, and plant project execution Strong communication and cross-functional leadership skills Ability to travel extensively nationwide (70-80%) Preferred Experience Protein, meat, poultry, or harvest operations Automation and robotics integration High-speed packaging systems Multi-site manufacturing support Compensation & Benefits Competitive base salary Performance bonus Relocation assistance Comprehensive benefits package Long-term career growth opportunities within engineering leadership
