NDDOT Hiring Salary:
$6,105/ month Manage and Inspect Highway Construction Projects. Coordinate day-to-day activities on construction projects with contractors. Ensure all projects are in accordance with plans, specifications, and procedures. Prepare field reports and project documents. Maintain supervision on all work items through the duration of the project. Assist in payment for completed work being done by contractors. Collect approvals of construction materials used in construction work. Set horizontal and vertical alignment for highway construction. Document work as required. Provide training for technicians and temporary employees. Maintain Project Records. Prepare inspection reports on activities and materials installed on the construction sites. Prepare force account reports for machines and labor hours for work being completed. Check and/or approve of employees' inspection reports, concrete test reports, lab reports, and provide guidance to subordinates on filling out necessary reports for the tests Oversee Inspection and Testing Construction Materials Assign staff to conduct slump air content tests, unit weight tests, and making concrete cylinders. Assign staff to conduct moisture tests, moisture density tests. conduct sieve analysis on aggregates for asphalt and construction paving projects. Document all test results as required. Designs. Assist in the design of preventive maintenance projects. Complete environmental checklist documentation. Train and provide guidance to lower-level technicians for district design activities. Review existing conditions and survey data. Use Microsoft and Geopak. Minimum Qualifications An associate degree in engineering or a related field and four years of related highway/transportation construction and engineering experience, OR six years of related highway/transportation construction and engineering experience. A bachelor's degree in engineering or a related field may substitute for the required work experience on a year for year basis. Requires satisfactory completion of the interview process, verifiable record of satisfactory performance in previous employment, and job function screening.
