This role sits within SMR LLC, a subsidiary of Holtec, and plays a critical leadership role in developing and executing the overall licensing strategy. Holtec is a global supplier of equipment and systems supporting nuclear, solar, geothermal, and fossil power generation sectors. The Director of Licensing will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of the SMR-300 licensing program, including regulatory strategy, license applications, topical reports, and direct engagement with the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC). This individual will work cross-functionally across engineering, project leadership, and broader business units to ensure regulatory alignment and successful project execution.

Camden, NJ (On‑site) Primary Responsibilities:
Lead and execute the overall licensing strategy for SMR-300, including applications, topical reports, and regulatory engagement plans Serve as the primary interface with the U.S. NRC, including Branch Chiefs, Project Managers, and technical staff Oversee preparation, review, and approval of licensing correspondence and documentation Collaborate with engineering, project management, and leadership teams to ensure alignment with licensing requirements Provide technical guidance on licensing and regulatory matters throughout the project lifecycle Develop and maintain documentation including licensing basis materials, reports, and project updates Identify licensing risks and develop mitigation strategies to support successful project outcomes Ensure compliance with NRC regulations, industry standards, and internal quality requirements Support generation of permits, applications, and regulatory submissions for new nuclear plant development Communicate project progress, risks, and key updates to internal stakeholders Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Engineering required 10+ years of experience in the commercial or naval nuclear industry with strong licensing and engineering background Strong familiarity with U.S. NRC
regulations, processes, and licensing pathways Proven experience managing complex regulatory programs and interactions Excellent written and verbal communication skills with ability to convey technical concepts clearly Strong leadership, collaboration, and problem-solving capabilities Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills Professional presence with the ability to present to various levels of the organization Willingness to travel approximately 10-20% A Generation Ahead by Design™ Investing in people who power the future.
