We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Civil Engineering Branch Manager to lead our Toms River, NJ office. The ideal candidate will be a seasoned Civil Professional Engineer capable of stepping into a senior leadership role. This position oversees all aspects of office operations, staff management, client management, business development, and financial performance. The Branch Manager will report directly to the CEO and will serve as a key member of the Senior Management Team. Our Toms River operation serves a combination of municipal, land development and water/wastewater clientele. The Branch Manager will be expected to serve a go-to technical resource in these areas. Key Responsibilities Lead the day-to-day operations of the Toms River branch office, including staff management, workload coordination, technical oversight, and overall office performance Provide technical support and mentoring Coordinate with Human Resources on personnel matters including hiring, performance management, time-off approvals, and mentorship Oversee branch financial performance, including billing, collections, and financial projections, in coordination with accounting and senior leadership Review and approve project proposals and ensure quality control across work produced by the branch Support and participate in business development efforts, including managing existing client relationships and pursuing new opportunities Collaborate with discipline leaders to optimize employee utilization and manage workload across the branch Attend senior management meetings and contribute to company-wide strategic planning Coordinate with other Branch Managers to share resources and align on firm-wide goals Manage individual client accounts, projects, and billings as applicable to the Branch Manager's own portfolio Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related field required 15+ years of experience in civil engineering and/or a related field required Depth of experience in municipal engineering highly preferred Experience in land development and water/wastewater a plus At least 3-5 years in a senior leadership and/or project management role required
Licensures:
New Jersey Professional Engineer (PE) required Certified Municipal Engineer (CME) preferred Professional Land Surveyor (PLS) and/or Professional Planner (PP) a plus Demonstrated ability to serve as a technical resource and advisor on various civil engineering projects from inception through completion Strong leadership and personnel management skills with the ability to mentor and develop staff at all levels Solid understanding of engineering business operations, including financial management and business development What We Offer We are committed to creating a personal and professional environment where we can build and focus on helping communities through teamwork and support.
