Candidates should have a background in electrical engineering, physics, applied physics, pulsed power applications of solid-state switches. The Deputy Program Manager will be required to manage and provide oversight of solid-state, pulsed-power switch designs and related tasks. The Deputy Program Manager will lead a team managing the effort from concept to system level device completion as well as semi-conductor fabrication. In addition, the candidate must have experience with 40-kV, solid-state switches and must have transitioned technology into commercial products.
Responsibilities Include:
Collaborating, leading, and managing scientists, engineers, technicians, and project task managers to develop advanced, solid-state switch devices and switches for pulsed-power systems. Experience using simulation tools (e.g., TCAD, COMSOL, CST, SPICE, Screamer) for multi-physics simulations and modeling of solid-state switch topologies, designs, and reliability. Designing high-temperature, long-lifetime, solid-state switches for high-reliability pulsed-power systems, both single-shot and long-lifetime, rep-rate systems. Developing high-temperature electronics and assemblies Presenting work at design reviews, managing schedules, and tracking project costs. Conducting theoretical and experimental analysis. Manage fabrication at the wafer level and collaboration with semiconductor device teams at SiC or silicon semiconductor fabrication facilities Documenting results, failures, and corrective actions. Writing technical proposals.
Required Qualifications:
Master's degree in physics or higher in electrical engineering or a related field or seven to ten years of relevant work experience. 25+ years of experience in pulsed-power or solid-state switch projects. Management of a $50+M business unit. Experience in research, development, or prototyping environments. Experience writing proposals for competitive solicitations.
