$80k - $90k with a 9% bonus Requirements Strong hands-on experience with OSP fiber design and construction (primary focus) Deep experience with
FTTH / GPON
network design and deployment Experience reviewing and optimizing Low Level Designs (LLD) for constructability, efficiency, and cost savings Proven experience managing engineering vendors or third-party design partners, holding them accountable for quality and delivery timelines DOT, permitting, and ROW knowledge Solid Excel / Microsoft Office skills: Lookups, Pivot Tables, data manipulation Spreadsheet-based reporting (~30% of role) Experience with job costing, budget tracking, and cost variance analysis Plusses Experience with engineering or GIS tools (QGIS, ArcGIS, AutoCAD, etc.) Prior field engineering or contractor/vendor oversight experience Experience editing PDFs for permitting and design documentation Large-scale FTTH / fiber deployment project experience Experience working in high-volume build environments with multiple concurrent vendors Role Summary The Fiber Engineer will support large-scale FTTH (Fiber-to-the-Home) deployments with a strong focus on GPON architecture and Outside Plant (OSP) design. This role is responsible for reviewing and optimizing low-level designs from engineering vendors, ensuring constructability, cost efficiency, and permitting compliance. This individual will act as a key point of accountability for engineering partners, ensuring high-quality deliverables are produced on time and aligned with project standards while supporting projects from design through construction. Day to Day Review and optimize LLDs from engineering vendors for constructability, cost efficiency, and quality Manage and oversee third-party engineering vendors, ensuring timelines, quality standards, and deliverables are met Design and support OSP fiber networks, including feeder and distribution in
GPON/FTTH
environments Support OSP construction activities, field coordination, and contractor/vendor oversight Assist with permitting and ROW compliance across jurisdictions Track costs and support budget and variance analysis Build and maintain Excel-based reporting and tracking tools
