Full Job Description Description:
Mechanical Dynamics & Analysis, LLC (MD&A) is a world class supplier of power generation services, parts, and repairs for steam, gas, and industrial turbines and generators. We lead the industry by offering high-quality, on-schedule, and cost-effective services, parts, and repairs which result in repeat business and positive customer feedback - we are known for our knowledge and experience. As the MD&A Gas Turbine Product Service Lead Engineer you will be responsible for performing engineering support for all gas turbine parts and services that MD&A chooses to service. This position will be responsible for working with the Gas Turbine Services, Industrial Gas Turbine Parts, Fuel Nozzle Parts, Gas Turbine Rotor, Controls, and R D Engineering teams to drive a cohesive strategy around new development and product support.
Responsibilities:
Support product and services technical development across divisions Understand the competitive technical limitations of the Gas Turbine business and develop a strategy to close those gaps as required by product leadership. Provide technical support as needed to all gas turbine divisions with interpretation of design criteria, evaluation, and resolution of field and shop issues. Lead and support Root Cause and Corrective actions following
MD&A RCA
process, including containment, root cause investigation, corrective action development, and validation. Support enhancement of the documentation and configuration control methods in use by the MD&A gas turbine divisions. Participate in proactive team efforts to achieve company goals. Contribute to building a positive cross division team spirit and maintain a continuous improvement mindset. Communicate effectively with subordinates and management at all levels. Travel up to 30% to MD&A Gas Turbine locations, and occasionally to MD&A jobsites
Requirements:
Education:
Bachelor of Science Degree - Mechanical, Electrical or Aerospace Engineering.
Relevant Experience:
A minimum of 10 years of experience in GE and/or GE Associate HDGT gas turbine design or services is required.
Skills:
Excellent written and verbal communication. Work effectively without supervision. Effectively collaborate in a cross functional team environment. Ability to read and interpret documents such as industry reports and technical journals. Ability to write and review technical reports and correspondence including customer reports. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one, small group, and large group situations to customers, suppliers, and other employees in the organization. Customer Service orientation; Identifies, analyzes, & solves engineering problems quickly with practical solutions.
Knowledge:
Knowledge of gas turbine engineering including overall gas turbine and generator configuration, turbine parts, accessories, and auxiliary systems is required. Process knowledge in Power Industry; detailed knowledge & proficiency in Quality Systems, Engineering Design, and CAD capability desirable.
Physical Demands:
Exposure to industrial power plant, repair shop and office environments; Ability to travel to field locations both domestically and internationally as needed.
