Job Description This position oversees the track discipline on a major commuter rail infrastructure expansion project in the NYC metro area. As Track Lead, candidate will provide the Metropolitan Transportation Authority Construction & Development project team with expert knowledge on all issues involving rail design and construction on this $1.8B design-build project. Core Responsibilities Provide design review for rail/track systems to ensure quality and compliance Collaborate within a multi-agency environment and coordinate across stakeholders Lead and support team field inspection activities and execution Coordinate with design-build contractors and railroad entities Interface with technical and management teams to resolve complex track issues Ensure high-quality design and construction through problem resolution and oversight You'll thrive here if you have A bachelor's degree in civil engineering, Construction Management, or a related field, or extensive relevant experience (8-10+ years) may be accepted in lieu of a degree. Extensive background in rail/track construction, 8-10+ years, with electrified transit rail experience also desirable. Thorough understanding of track design and construction practices with familiarity of railway standards (eg. AREA, Amtrak, MetroNorth). Working knowledge of signal, power, and communication systems. Leadership, problem-solving, risk assessment, strong communication. $166,000 - $187,000 annual salary The expected salary range for the position is displayed in accordance with the state's law. Final agreed upon compensation is based upon individual qualifications and experience.
