Job Description
The Role The Vice President will play a key role in supporting and scaling the insurance platform by driving technology‑enabled operational improvements across portfolio companies. The role sits within the Insurance Operations & PMO function and partners closely with investment professionals, portfolio company leadership teams, and internal engineering and data resources. The position combines technology due diligence, program leadership, and portfolio company support, with a strong emphasis on leveraging modern technology and AI‑driven solutions to improve scalability, performance, and long‑term value creation. The individual will support insurance portfolio companies across the U.S., Europe, and Bermuda, with the overarching objective of enhancing portfolio value through disciplined execution, strong stakeholder engagement, and technology‑led transformation. Key Responsibilities Transaction Support & Due Diligence Lead technology and data diligence for M&A and strategic transactions, including assessments of IT architecture, data platforms, operating models, and technology spend Evaluate technology synergies, technical debt, and integration complexity to support deal underwriting and investment decision‑making Estimate costs associated with system integration, modernization, or standalone platform enhancements Portfolio Company Technology & Operations Partner with portfolio company CTOs, COOs, and senior leaders to modernize technology environments and engineering practices Provide strategic guidance on system migrations, data conversions, platform integrations, and outsourcing initiatives Support execution of large‑scale technology programs while minimizing operational disruption Program & Portfolio Management Oversee a portfolio of strategic initiatives across the insurance business, ensuring alignment with broader investment and operating objectives Drive governance, reporting, and execution discipline across complex, multi‑stakeholder programs Support core business processes for the insurance platform, including planning, reporting, and performance tracking Innovation & AI Enablement Identify and deploy advanced technologies, including AI and machine learning, to automate and enhance insurance workflows such as claims, policy administration, and reporting Serve as a thought partner on emerging InsurTech trends and their practical application within portfolio companies Platform & Capability Build‑Out Collaborate with internal engineering and data teams to develop tools for portfolio monitoring, analytics, and real‑time reporting Recommend improvements to systems, processes, and infrastructure to support scalability and long‑term growth Financial & Risk Oversight Analyze portfolio company technology spend and operating expenses, identifying opportunities for vendor rationalization, outsourcing, and cloud optimization Support operational risk assessments related to technology, data, and infrastructure Stakeholder Collaboration Strengthen engagement models between the investment platform and portfolio companies Act as a trusted advisor to internal and external stakeholders across regions and functions What the Team Values Highly motivated, entrepreneurial professionals with a strong sense of ownership Commercial mindset with a focus on outcomes and value creation Strong collaboration and influencing skills across senior stakeholders High integrity, sound judgment, and discretion Ability to balance strategic thinking with hands‑on execution Comfort operating in complex, fast‑moving environments with competing priorities Strong organizational skills and attention to detail Team‑first mentality with a focus on collective success Preferred Qualifications 5-10 years of experience driving technology transformation within financial services, preferably insurance 5-10 years of program or project management experience across complex initiatives Experience leading or supporting technology and operational outsourcing, including vendor selection and contract negotiation Strong analytical skills with the ability to evaluate ROI across technology and operational initiatives Proven ability to solve complex problems and deliver results in ambiguous environments Self‑starter who operates effectively with limited direction Ability to manage multiple workstreams while maintaining composure under pressure
