Job Description
Senior Lead Software Engineer - Equities Electronic Trading (Java) A top‑tier global investment bank is seeking a number of Senior Lead Software Engineers (VP Level) to join its front‑office equities electronic trading team , as part of a broader buildout of their equities trading and market making platforms. This role would be focused on building and enhancing a mission‑critical Order Management System (OMS) supporting ETF and program trading. This is a hands‑on senior role within an agile engineering group responsible for designing, building, and operating high‑scale, low‑latency trading systems . You'll work closely with traders and business stakeholders, taking real ownership of architecture, delivery, and system reliability. What You'll Do Design and enhance equities OMS used in electronic trading Build scalable, resilient Java services in a distributed environment Partner directly with front‑office stakeholders to deliver new features Provide technical leadership through design and code reviews Support production releases and act as senior‑level production support Experience Needed Strong Core Java expertise and solid OO design fundamentals Experience with distributed, multi‑threaded, mission‑critical systems Familiarity with Linux, REST APIs, Spring Boot, SQL, messaging/JMS Exposure to CI/CD, testing, resiliency, and production support Knowledge of FIX, trade lifecycle, or AWS is a plus Why This Role Direct front‑office impact Ownership of business‑critical trading systems Strong engineering culture with modern practices One of the more technically ambitious equities trading platforms on the Street Unfortunately, the employer is unable to provide visa sponsorship at this time.
