Years of FPGA/Firmware Development Experience Mid-Senior Level Position Summary:
Lead a team of FPGA engineers developing firmware for secure tactical communication products. Manage FPGA development projects, including staffing, schedules, budgets, and technical execution. Collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams to develop FPGA-based solutions for wireless communication systems. Oversee team performance, career development, and continuous process improvement.
Key Responsibilities:
Manage and lead a team of FPGA engineers. Set performance goals, development plans, and training objectives for team members. Oversee timecard approvals and supervisory responsibilities. Drive project execution to meet technical, schedule, and cost objectives. Develop FPGA project schedules, resource plans, and cost estimates. Manage budgets and timelines for firmware development programs. Maintain and improve FPGA development processes and methodologies. Work with cross-functional teams to define, design, develop, and verify FPGA solutions. Support delivery of embedded FPGA firmware for communication products. Mentor engineers and promote technical excellence within the team.
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or another STEM discipline. Minimum 8 years of experience developing and verifying FPGA/ASIC-based embedded systems. Demonstrated project leadership and technical management experience. Strong understanding of
FPGA/ASIC
development and verification processes. Ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance.
Required Technical Skills:
FPGA Design and Development. Embedded Systems Engineering.
FPGA/ASIC
Verification. Project Planning and Technical Leadership. Resource, Budget, and Schedule Management. Cross-Functional Team Collaboration.
Preferred Skills:
VHDL and Verilog design for synthesis. SystemVerilog verification. UVM/OVM verification methodologies.
FPGA/ASIC
design verification and validation. Embedded cryptographic security solutions. Signal processing solutions for communication systems. Wireless communication product development. Technical mentoring and team leadership. Strong technical writing and presentation skills. Experience working with geographically distributed teams.
Preferred Background:
Defense Electronics. Aerospace Systems. Tactical Radio Systems. Secure Communications. Embedded Firmware Development. FPGA-Based Signal Processing Applications.
Security Clearance:
Active Secret Clearance strongly preferred. Must be eligible to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance.
Ideal Candidate:
Active Secret Clearance. Strong FPGA technical background combined with engineering leadership experience. Experience leading firmware teams supporting communication, defense, or embedded system products. IND_

$120,000.00 - $150,000.00 per year
