Job Description:
Job Description Position Purpose:
The employee will need to work with Product and Project Engineers to create drawings and assign the proper details to these drawings. A majority of the employee's job will be to will work on CAD and Pro-E drawings in response to Project Requests or Engineering Change Requests.
Essential Functions:
Assist Project Engineer in creation of new trailer air suspension designs, by helping to create the layout drawings, motion studies, etc., necessary to insure the proper fit and function of new designs. Create prototype drawings of suspension components and assemblies, for use in construction of prototypes to be built and tested at Hendrickson's R & D facility. Perform the analysis necessary to help define the most efficient product designs, in terms of weight, durability, and cost-effectiveness. Work closely with Manufacturing and Purchasing departments, and with outside suppliers, to obtain the best overall solutions to design problems. Complete all associated top-level assembly, subassembly, and detail part drawings for new designs, and process New Product Releases and Engineering Change Notices through proper channels and systems. Develop PPAP requests and support the required approval testing. Coordinate foreign supplier financial requirements and approvals Project and Coordination and planning Coordinate and test products for approval with Product and Project Engineers Education and Training Associate's Degree in a technical field; Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field would be a plus
Minimum Qualifications:
0-2 years experience; design/manufacture of welded steel products preferred Strong CAD skills using AutoCAD release 2008 required. 2 to 3 years of Pro-E experience required. Pro-E experience with Wildfire 4 would be a plus.
Physical Demands:
Frequent sitting, work at computer for extended periods of time.
Environmental Conditions:
Office setting Exposure to R D lab and manufacturing setting.
