As we continue to grow, we are seeking a dynamic and experienced Vice President of Construction to join our leadership team. Position Overview The Vice President of Construction is a senior leader within the executive team, supporting the direction and oversight of all construction activities across the organization. This role helps ensure the successful delivery of projects nationwide by promoting strong performance in safety, financial results, quality, and schedule adherence. The Vice President provides strategic direction, strengthens relationships with internal and external stakeholders, and advances operational consistency and excellence across all projects. This position requires sound business judgment, risk awareness, and the ability to support the execution of contractual obligations while aligning with company objectives. Working closely with leadership and project teams, the Vice President drives reliable, high-quality outcomes and continuous improvement across the organization. Supervisory Responsibilities The Vice President provides leadership and guidance to construction operations personnel across the organization, including: Project Managers Construction Coordinators Estimating Coordinators Superintendents Subcontractors and vendor partners This role supports coordination, alignment, and performance across all levels of construction teams to ensure consistent and effective project execution. - Develop and sustain strong partnerships with clients, owners, engineers, vendors, and service providers. Negotiations
- Lead and support high-level contract and change order negotiations.
Key Responsibilities Contract Administration Ensure all contractual obligations and deliverables are clearly defined, monitored, and successfully met. Promote accountability among customers, partners, and internal teams to uphold contractual agreements. Support effective resource allocation and staffing across projects to meet operational needs. Reinforce compliance with procurement policies, as well as insurance and bonding requirements. Identify and evaluate organization-wide risks and implement appropriate mitigation strategies. Drive successful project completion and support timely invoicing and payment collection. Oversees change management processes, ensuring proper approvals are obtained prior to execution. Provides executive guidance for preconstruction services, including value engineering, constructability analysis, scheduling, and budgeting. Cost and Productivity Management Lead performance tracking and forecasting efforts company-wide to support informed decision-making. Establish and reinforce consistent job cost reporting standards across the organization. Promote continuous improvement through innovation in efficiency, productivity, and profitability. Monitor labor productivity and overall performance, implementing corrective actions as needed. Support project-level profit and loss accountability through proactive cost management practices. Promote efficient utilization of company equipment and resources to support operational performance and cost control. Scheduling Ensure all projects adhere to or exceed contractual schedule requirements. Provide direction for organizational scheduling practices, including updates related to change orders and resource availability. Promotes consistent use of look-ahead schedules and timely submission of contractually required schedule updates. Quality Reinforce company-wide quality standards and supports adherence to all applicable requirements. Guide the development and review of project-specific quality plans. Cultivate a culture of excellence and continuous improvement across all projects. Team Leadership Lead, mentor, and develop construction leadership teams, including project managers and field personnel. Champion a high-performance culture centered on accountability, collaboration, and results. Support workforce planning, talent acquisition, and succession development. Relationships Build and maintain strong, trusted relationships with customers, owners, engineers, and partners. Provide executive leadership that reinforces a culture of safety, quality, teamwork, and respect. Enhance partnerships with subcontractors and suppliers to support long-term success. Safety and Environmental Lead efforts to achieve industry-leading safety performance across the organization. Promote a strong safety culture throughout all projects. Review and approves company-wide safety plans and corrective actions. Ensure compliance with environmental commitments and all regulatory requirements. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Business, or a related field required; candidates with a Bachelor's degree in Business must have relevant construction industry experience Master's degree, MBA or relevant (preferred). 15+ years of progressive experience in commercial construction leadership, including senior leadership roles. Proven success managing large, multi-state or national construction operations Strong background in retail, restaurant, and commercial construction preferred Demonstrated ability to lead and develop high-performing teams Excellent financial, analytical, and decision-making skills Strong communication skills with the ability to engage clients, partners, and internal teams Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment Willingness to travel nationally as required Benefits and Compensation We offer a comprehensive and competitive compensation package, including: $175k base salary Bonus of 15
