Position Summary The Engineering Project Manager – Electrical position provides project management direction and compliance for overall customer care of internal and external clients from small to large electrical and associated system projects. Projects are focused on the areas of electrical systems with emphasis on 600 VDC power systems that propel GCRTA trains, railroad signal systems and fiber optic or related communication systems. Work includes the integration of these systems into large, complex projects such as rail stations, signal improvement/replacement projects and fiber optic network upgrades and expansion. This position creates business cases for project funding, approval, and monitoring of project financials to ensure projects are delivered within budget and on schedule. Develops and maintains an integrated project plan and execution approach, issue and risk mitigation, tracking of design, cost and schedule, issue and change resolution and project status reporting and/or presentation. Ensures alignment of efforts and deliverables across internal and external teams as reflected in project estimates, plans and specifications. Serves as the single point of contact for electrical projects within the Engineering & Project Management division. Detailed Description Scope Provides project management direction and compliance for internal and external clients from small ( $1M) projects. Assures cost-effective, budget conforming, safety and timely delivery of solutions for electrical infrastructure and associated system issues. Communicates with internal and external stakeholders. Creates business cases for project funding, approval, and monitoring of project financials to ensure projects are delivered within budget and on schedule. Performs project estimates and tracks costs and impacts for a variety of reporting and presentations. Responds to requests from both internal and external stakeholders regarding cost and other project parameter information. Develops and maintains an integrated project plan and project execution approach, issue and risk mitigation, tracking of design, cost and schedule, issue and change resolutions and project status reporting/presentation. Ensures alignment of efforts and deliverables across internal and external stakeholders as reflected in project plans and specifications. Make corrections as necessary to assure customer satisfaction. Serves as the single point of contact for electrical and associated infrastructure projects within the Engineering & Project Management and Operations divisions. Supports other project managers regarding the electrical elements of their projects. Job Requirements Minimum Requirements 7 to 9 years of experience in project management leading a variety of small to large scale electrical systems/components including power, signal and fiber optic and related building projects. Must be experienced in at least two of the following electrical areas: 600 VDC power systems used by GCRTA trains, railroad signaling systems, fiber optic and related communications systems, and building HVAC and related automation systems. Bachelor’s degree in Engineering Science, preferably Electrical Professional Engineer (PE) certification required; NEC certification is a plus
