Aircraft Acquisition Airworthiness Expert Peerless Technologies - 4.2 Dayton, OH Job Details Full-time 2 hours ago Qualifications 5 years Bachelor of Science Engineering Senior level Full Job Description Aircraft Acquisition Airworthiness Expert Peerless is hiring airworthiness expertise to support the US Air Force T-7A training aircraft development program. The T-7 is the Advanced Pilot Trainer (APT) currently in development for the US Air Force. Peerless is hiring an experienced airworthiness engineer to review technical documentation and contractor deliverables to evaluate the proposed system type design. You will provide recommended engineering changes, assess and communicate risks to leadership, and assist with the test and evaluation of the related systems.
Responsibilities:
Support the design, development, and evaluation of end-to-end systems and systems-oriented products Ensure requirements comply with client requirements and government standards through formal verification methods Establish and coordinate development of standards, practices, and procedures as related to the overall product development Assess performance, hazards, and risk using evaluation criteria and technical performance measures Participate in design reviews to ensure applicability to the current system and traceability of requirements through compliance verification and validation Review test plans/procedures and ensures they meet the objectives of the contractual requirements and participates in the testing process to validate requirements Evaluate, identify, and interpret test success criteria and results and recommend corrective action for any shortcomings Effectively interact with others in person and using telework methods Effectively communicate status, issues, risks, results, and recommendations through written and verbal communications
Required:
BS in engineering or similar field 10+ years' experience with systems engineering, in the DOD acquisition environment Working knowledge of USAF Airworthiness policies, procedures and criteria, and standards and methods of compliance
US Citizen Preferred:
MS in aeronautical/aerospace engineering 15+ years' experience with USAF systems engineering, in the acquisition environment 5+ years airworthiness experience
