Job Description

Mechanical Project ManagerLocation:
Dayton, OH (Southwest Ohio projects)
Salary:
$90,000 - $140,000Position OverviewWe are seeking an experienced Mechanical Project Manager to lead large-scale commercial HVAC, piping, and plumbing projects from preconstruction through closeout. This role is responsible for managing budgets, schedules, subcontractors, and client relationships while ensuring projects are delivered safely, efficiently, and to the highest quality standards.

The ideal candidate has experience working for a mechanical contractor or subcontractor and is comfortable managing complex mechanical systems across healthcare, education, industrial, and commercial construction projects.

This organization is a full-service mechanical contractor specializing in HVAC, plumbing, piping, fabrication, and service for large-scale commercial and industrial projects throughout the region.

Key ResponsibilitiesManage mechanical construction projects from preconstruction through completionCoordinate with field teams, subcontractors, vendors, and general contractorsDevelop and maintain project budgets, schedules, and cost forecastsReview drawings and specifications to identify scope gaps and constructability issuesTrack RFIs, submittals, change orders, and overall project documentationOversee procurement of equipment and long-lead materialsCoordinate with fabrication teams and support prefabrication effortsSupport BIM/VDC coordination and clash detection processesMonitor project progress, safety, and quality performanceLead commissioning, turnover, and project closeout processesQualifications3+ years of experience in mechanical or HVAC project managementExperience on commercial or industrial construction projects (healthcare, education, manufacturing, etc.)Strong knowledge of HVAC, piping, and/or plumbing systemsAbility to read and interpret construction drawings and specificationsProven ability to manage budgets, schedules, and multiple stakeholdersStrong communication, leadership, and problem-solving skillsPreferredExperience working for a mechanical contractor or subcontractorExposure to prefabrication/fabrication workflowsExperience with BIM/VDC coordinationBackground in healthcare, pharmaceutical, or industrial projectsOSHA certification or strong safety backgroundAdditional InformationCandidates who complete skills assessments and screening questions will be prioritized in the application process.
