Senior Vice President (SVP) General Contractor, Hyperscale Data Center Construction

Position Overview We are seeking a highly experienced, hands-on Senior Vice President (SVP) of General Contracting to lead the full construction execution of hyperscale and AI-driven data center projects. This is a working executive role for an individual with deep practical experience managing large-scale mission-critical construction projects from site development through turnover and commissioning. The ideal candidate must possess extensive experience building hyperscale data centers and coordinating all phases of construction including civil, structural, mechanical, electrical, utility, and mission-critical infrastructure systems. This role requires an individual capable of running fast-track, large-scale design-build projects while maintaining direct involvement in field operations, scheduling, coordination, constructability, and execution strategy. The successful candidate will oversee in-house construction operations and drive delivery of hyperscale AI infrastructure projects at speed and scale. Key Responsibilities Construction Leadership & Execution Lead full construction delivery of hyperscale and AI data center projects Oversee all phases of construction including: Site development Civil work Structural construction Mechanical systems Electrical infrastructure Mission-critical systems Interior buildout Commissioning support Manage construction execution from preconstruction through turnover Project Management & Field Operations Direct daily field operations across multiple active hyperscale projects Develop and maintain: Master schedules Construction sequencing plans Logistics plans Procurement schedules Staffing plans Coordinate all subcontractors, vendors, consultants, and field teams Drive rapid deployment schedules and aggressive construction timelines Mission-Critical Infrastructure Coordination Coordinate installation and integration of: HVAC/mechanical systems Electrical infrastructure Utility systems Generator plants UPS systems Cooling infrastructure High-density AI compute environments Support commissioning, startup, and operational readiness activities Ensure projects meet uptime, redundancy, and performance requirements Design-Build Coordination Work directly with engineering and design teams to resolve constructability challenges Review construction documents, specifications, RFIs, and submittals Lead field coordination and real-time problem solving Support value engineering and deployment optimization initiatives Operational & Financial Oversight Manage large-scale construction budgets and project controls Oversee procurement strategy and material logistics Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and regulatory standards Develop scalable construction methodologies and deployment standards Required Qualifications 15+ years of experience managing large-scale mission-critical or hyperscale construction projects Proven experience delivering hyperscale or data center construction projects Deep expertise in: Design-build project delivery Mission-critical construction Fast-track scheduling Trade coordination Utility infrastructure AI/hyperscale environments Strong understanding of: Mechanical systems Electrical systems Cooling infrastructure Critical facilities operations Commissioning processes Experience managing large field teams, subcontractors, and multi-site deployments Ability to operate effectively in high-speed, rapidly scaling infrastructure environments Preferred Qualifications Experience supporting AI/GPU data center deployments Familiarity with high-density cooling and liquid cooling infrastructure Experience with modular or prefabricated construction methodologies Background in hyperscale campus development OSHA and mission-critical construction certifications preferred Ideal Candidate The ideal candidate is a true builder with extensive field and mission-critical construction experience. This person should be capable of: Running complex hyperscale projects from the ground up Coordinating all trades and infrastructure systems Solving construction and field challenges in real time Managing aggressive schedules and deployment targets Driving execution from site development through commissioning The successful candidate combines executive-level accountability with practical construction leadership and deep mission-critical expertise.
