Job Description
Position Overview We are seeking a highly technical, hands-on Senior Vice President (SVP) of HVAC Design & Build to lead the in-house engineering, specification, and deployment of mechanical cooling infrastructure for hyperscale and AI-driven data center environments. This is a working executive role for an individual with deep practical experience designing and building mission-critical HVAC and cooling systems for large-scale data centers and high-density AI compute environments. The ideal candidate must be capable of personally producing HVAC system designs, mechanical drawings, cooling calculations, equipment specifications, airflow layouts, and construction documentation while driving full mechanical project execution from concept through commissioning. This role is focused on hyperscale and AI infrastructure environments requiring advanced cooling strategies, high-density thermal management, and rapid deployment execution. Key Responsibilities Hands-On HVAC Engineering & Design Personally design and engineer HVAC and mechanical cooling systems for hyperscale data centers Produce and review: Mechanical drawings HVAC layouts Cooling distribution plans Piping diagrams Airflow models Equipment schedules Mechanical specifications Construction drawing packages Develop cooling standards for high-density GPU and AI environments Create scalable and repeatable mechanical deployment templates AI & High-Density Cooling Infrastructure Design cooling infrastructure supporting large-scale GPU and AI compute deployments Engineer solutions including: Chilled water systems

systems Liquid cooling systems CDU deployments Rear-door heat exchangers Direct-to-chip cooling Air-cooled and hybrid cooling systems Perform thermal analysis, airflow planning, and cooling load calculations Optimize cooling efficiency, redundancy, scalability, and uptime Design-Build Execution Lead full in-house HVAC design-build delivery for hyperscale projects Coordinate directly with contractors, vendors, commissioning agents, and field teams Support construction execution, equipment installation, startup, and commissioning Resolve field engineering and mechanical installation issues in real time Ensure systems meet operational, performance, and reliability standards Technical Leadership Serve as senior technical authority for all HVAC and cooling infrastructure decisions Maintain direct involvement in engineering, drafting, specifications, and field coordination Establish HVAC engineering standards, QA/QC procedures, and deployment methodologies Support rapid deployment schedules for hyperscale expansion projects Required Qualifications 15+ years of hands-on HVAC/mechanical engineering experience in mission-critical or hyperscale environments Proven experience designing and building cooling systems for large-scale data centers Ability to personally create: Mechanical drawings HVAC layouts Cooling system specifications Construction packages Equipment schedules Deep expertise in: Chilled water systems Data center cooling infrastructure Mechanical system design High-density thermal management AI/GPU cooling environments Strong understanding of: Hyperscale infrastructure Redundant mechanical systems Liquid cooling technologies Commissioning and startup procedures Experience supporting high-density AI or GPU deployments Preferred Technical Skills AutoCAD Revit / BIM CFD airflow modeling Thermal load analysis Mechanical system commissioning Direct-to-chip cooling systems CDU design and deployment Utility coordination and infrastructure planning Modular data center cooling systems Ideal Candidate The ideal candidate is a true mechanical design-build expert who remains deeply involved in the engineering work itself. This person should be capable of: Personally engineering HVAC systems Producing mechanical drawings and specifications independently Solving thermal and cooling challenges directly Supporting field installation and commissioning Delivering hyperscale cooling infrastructure from concept through operation The successful candidate combines executive-level accountability with real-world engineering and construction capability.Pay:
