Reading, Pa (HQ) The Primary Role The Engineering Manager leads Caldera's engineering function across multiple sites, guiding a team of engineers and technical professionals to support production, improve processes, and drive innovation. This role ensures engineering excellence, strong cross-functional collaboration, and consistent execution aligned with Caldera's values of Commitment, Boldness, Innovation, Passion, and People & Community. The Engineering Manager strengthens operational efficiency, product quality, manufacturability, and cost reduction efforts, while mentoring a growing engineering team.

The Scope Leadership & Team Development Lead and mentor a team of 3-5 engineers and technical specialists. Establish goals, priorities, and development plans. Ensure engineering support aligns with production and customer needs. Promote a culture of continuous improvement and accountability. Engineering Operations Oversee engineering project planning, resourcing, execution, and documentation. Review and approve technical drawings, BOMs, routings, weld symbols, and work instructions. Manage ECR/ECO processes to maintain document accuracy and revision control. Support root cause investigations and corrective actions. Process & Continuous Improvement Lead initiatives that target throughput improvements, cost reduction, scrap reduction, and process stability. Apply Lean and Six Sigma tools to optimize workflows. Evaluate new equipment, automation, and technology enhancements. Standardize engineering practices across Caldera sites. Cross-Functional Collaboration Partner with Sales & Estimating on manufacturability and quotations. Collaborate with Production, Maintenance, Scheduling, Purchasing, and Quality. Support customer technical reviews and engineering inquiries. Compliance, Quality & Safety Ensure adherence to engineering, safety, and industry standards. Support audit readiness and documentation accuracy. Model safe working behaviors and promote engineering safety protocols. The Key Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Industrial, Manufacturing, or related engineering field. 7+ years of manufacturing or industrial engineering experience. 3+ years of engineering team leadership. Proficiency in CAD (SolidWorks, AutoCAD, etc.). Strong understanding of fabrication, welding, machining, and GD&T. Demonstrated success leading engineering projects. Experience in metal fabrication or custom engineered manufacturing. Lean Six Sigma, PMP, or CI certifications. Multi-site engineering support experience. ERP proficiency (Epicor, Job
