Description Job Summary:
The Sprinkler Design Manager will oversee the sprinkler designers and plan the design workload with the Sales Team and the Project Management Team to make sure that the design department is on time with preparing field install drawings and fabrication lists. This person will also need to assist the design team with answering questions they may have regarding codes and design strategies. This person will also help the design effort by preparing fire sprinkler drawings and calculations, producing accurate and effective construction plans for approval. Upon completion of drawings and receipt of all required approvals, prepare an accurate stock listing of all materials required for the project and requisition same.

Manage schedules and assign projects for the design team
Coordinate with the Sales & Management team as to when design needs to be completed
Assist with the design and layout of sprinkler systems as needed when needed
Job Requirements:
College graduate with degree in Fire Protection Design or 7+ years of design experience
Proficient in AutoCAD, design of sprinkler systems
Have working knowledge of hydraulic piping calculations
Working with HydraCAD and/or Autosprink is a Plus
Strong analytical and mathematical aptitude
Excellent organizational skills
Self-starter and be able to operate in a team environment
Full knowledge of NFPA codes
NICET certification
- Level 2 minimum in sprinkler design, Level 3 or 4 preferred
Work Environment/Physical Requirements:
Office environment
Work offsite at customer facilities
- may be clean/unclean conditions, hot/cold conditions
Field sites where safety equipment may need to be worn
Work may include some significant amounts of standing and walking
