Architect Job Description We are seeking a talented and experienced Architect with a degree in architecture and over 5 years of experience in the field. The successful candidate will be responsible for creating project designs and plans across all phases, coordinating with building design consultants, and monitoring drawings throughout the process. This role requires preparing presentation and design drawings, attending meetings, coordinating internally and externally, and managing project scopes and fee proposals. The Architect will ensure that projects are completed within budgeted hours and schedule, and will address and issue all change of service requests promptly. Responsibilities Initiate and create project designs and plans for all project phases. Coordinate work of building design consultants and monitor drawings. Prepare presentation and design drawings. Attend and coordinate both internal and external meetings. Prepare project scope and fee proposals. Ensure project numbers are assigned, contracts are signed, and consultants' proposals are signed. Complete project design and deliverables within budget and on schedule. Verify project status and identify issues related to time vs. budget. Address and issue all change of service requests from staff and consultants. Essential Skills Proficiency in AutoCAD and Revit. Experience with project planning, design, and construction documentation. Ability to coordinate construction documents. Strong drafting skills. Experience in commercial projects in retail, industrial, or multifamily sectors. Additional Skills & Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Architecture. On the path to Licensure is preferred. Proficiency in Sketch-Up, Adobe Creative Suite, and Microsoft Office. Work Environment Our office offers a newly renovated space located in Glen Burnie, near the airport. Employees enjoy a great environment with weekly happy hours and team outings. The work schedule is flexible, averaging 80 hours over two weeks, allowing for work-from-home opportunities as needed. We offer 7 federal holidays, 1 bonus holiday, and 3 weeks of PTO. Project teams typically consist of a Project Architect/Project Manager and two production-level architects, working on a mix of light commercial, retail, adaptive reuse projects, including Retail Centers, Offices, Educational & Institutional, and Medical/Healthcare projects. We support each project type and provide the flexibility to float between groups. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Glen Burnie, MD. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $38.46 - $52.88/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
