Job Description
A mission-driven SaaS organization is hiring a full-time, fully remote Director of Engineering (with preference for DC area candidates). The company builds technology solutions that help organizations manage fundraising, customer engagement, and digital campaigns at scale. This leadership role will oversee engineering operations and technical direction across a modern web platform utilizing technologies such as Ruby on Rails, Angular, AWS, and modern CI/CD practices. This is an opportunity to take ownership of engineering execution and team development at a growing technology company focused on meaningful impact. The organization is looking for a leader who can improve delivery predictability, streamline development processes, and build a strong engineering culture without creating unnecessary process overhead. The ideal candidate enjoys mentoring teams, driving operational improvements, and partnering cross-functionally with product and business stakeholders. The role offers strong visibility within leadership, the ability to influence long-term technical strategy, and the flexibility of a fully remote environment with a healthy work-life balance. Required Skills & Experience
- 8+ years of software engineering experience
- 3-5+ years in engineering leadership roles
- Experience leading engineering teams at SaaS companies
- Strong Agile/Scrum process management experience
- Proven success improving delivery velocity and reducing operational inefficiencies
- Experience coaching and mentoring engineers and technical leads
- Strong communication skills across technical and non-technical teams
- Experience managing sprint execution, planning, and estimation Desired Skills & Experience
