Director of NC Programming and Engineering Services Wichita, KS 67202 Apply Apply Description SUMMARY The Director of NC Programming and Engineering Services is responsible for leading and scaling Axius Group's technical delivery capabilities across NC programming and engineering services. This role drives high-quality, on-time client delivery while serving as the technical bridge between customers, internal teams, and sales. This individual provides leadership to technical teams, ensures alignment with client manufacturing environments, and supports business growth through technical credibility, project scoping, and strategic partnership with sales and executive leadership.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Lead and manage a team of NC Programmers and technical personnel, providing technical oversight, direction, and accountability for delivery performance Ensure high-quality, on-time execution of client deliverables across multiple programs and engagements Serve as the primary technical point of contact for clients across the full lifecycle, including pre-sales, onboarding, and active engagements Act as the bridge between client stakeholders and internal NC Programming teams to ensure alignment and clear communication Partner with client manufacturing teams to align deliverables with shop practices, equipment capabilities, tolerances, and quality expectations Support recruiting efforts by participating in interviews and assessing technical talent to ensure high-quality hires Partner with Executive Leadership to develop market strategies and expand client opportunities Support development of pricing strategies, cost models, and utilization targets to drive profitability and scalability Partner with Program Management and HR to ensure proper billing alignment, PO coverage, and continuity of work Evaluate and scope both on-site and remote engagements, providing estimates for complexity, timelines, and cost Support sales efforts by participating in client and prospect meetings to strengthen technical credibility and solution alignment Maintain accountability for operational performance, team output, and client satisfaction Qualifications
KNOWLEDGE
Strong understanding of NC and CNC programming, machining, and advanced manufacturing processes Experience within aerospace and defense manufacturing environments, including Tier 1 and Tier 2 suppliers Knowledge of high speed kinematic machine tools, metallics, and composite materials Familiarity with shop operations, tooling, tolerances, and quality requirements Understanding of design for manufacturability principles and OEM interaction Experience with ERP systems and CAD CAM platforms such as CATIA and similar tools

EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION
High school diploma or equivalent required Minimum of ten years of experience in NC programming, machining, or manufacturing engineering Experience within aerospace or defense manufacturing environments required Hands on experience with high speed machine tools, metallics, and composite materials Demonstrated leadership experience within technical or manufacturing organizations Experience developing standard work, quality frameworks, and scalable delivery models Ability to support consultative sales and adapt across multiple engineering platforms
WORKING CONDITIONS
Combination of office, remote, and manufacturing environments Regular interaction with shop floors and client facilities May require travel to support client engagements and team oversight
