1-Year contract (with possible extension) Job Overview:
The Project Execution Manager is responsible for the end-to-end delivery of small•to mid-scale CORE Electrical projects. This role provides overall oversight across all project phases, including development, engineering, design, procurement, construction, commissioning, and closeout. The position plays a critical leadership role by coordinating a multidisciplinary team, ensuring effective communication, and supplying accurate, timely information to management to support informed decision-making. Key Responsibilities:
Translating organizational objectives into actionable project plans in collaboration with internal stakeholders (e.g., Environment, Safety, Quality, Land, Legal, Supply Chain). Ensuring engineering scope definitions comply with all regulatory, environmental, health, and safety requirements. Managing project risks and changes proactively while providing regular, transparent updates to stakeholders and leadership. Monitoring and controlling project activities to ensure delivery within approved timelines and budgets. Overseeing material and equipment specifications, procurement, and requisition processes. Providing technical and business guidance in the preparation, review, and finalization of project documentation. Facilitating effective communication between engineering consultants, contractors, vendors, and internal teams to resolve technical issues promptly. Supporting front-end project development activities alongside Development Engineering teams. Providing on-site leadership and support during construction and commissioning phases. Leading the preparation, evaluation, and award of engineering and construction tenders. Administering contracts and ensuring vendor/contractor performance aligns with project expectations. Building strong working relationships with contractors and consultants while providing performance feedback for continuous improvement. Maintaining accurate and consistent project documentation and records. Ensuring structured and timely project closeout, including lessons learned and final reporting. Supporting continuous improvement of project management systems, processes, and tools across the organization. Scope/Dimensions:
Manages capital maintenance and pipeline projects ranging from $500K to $100MM. Oversees complex projects requiring high levels of planning, coordination, and stakeholder engagement. Represents the organization in interactions with external partners, regulators, consultants, contractors, and the public. Applies established project management frameworks and standards to drive consistent execution. Provides leadership, direction, and mentorship to a small team of technical professionals. Stakeholder Engagement:
Collaborates closely with Project Sponsors to ensure alignment on scope, budget, and performance. Acts as a central point of coordination between subject matter experts, consultants, and contractors. Facilitates ongoing communication among internal departments and external stakeholders. Engages with contractor and consultant leadership to strengthen partnerships and improve delivery outcomes. Qualifications:
Degree or diploma in Electrical Engineering, Project Management, Construction, Pipelines, or a related field. Minimum of 7 years of progressive experience, including at least 5 years in project management. Proven experience delivering capital or infrastructure projects within regulated environments. Strong understanding of PMI PMBOK
principles; PMP certification is considered an asset. Working knowledge of industry and regulatory standards (e.g., Canadian Electrical Code, National Electrical Code). Demonstrated expertise in:
Project planning and execution Risk and change management Contract administration Stakeholder communication and negotiation Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to engage effectively across all levels. Strong leadership, problem-solving, decision-making, and organizational skills. Ability to identify issues, develop solutions, make timely decisions, and escalate when necessary. Experience mentoring and developing junior staff. Valid Class 5 driver's license with a safe driving record.
